I can’t describe how perfect the final show was. I deserved it. It was a reminder of why I started SYM and what the podcast will stand for years from now. I believe that the live show was a portal to a new beginning, and a reflection of what I’ve shed in order to step into a new identity. Society continues to shift in previously unimaginable ways. An audience member asked a question and by the time we had left the venue, the things I’d said had started happening. Tarot or not, some things you can see coming if you pay attention to the change in the wind. Those of us who were present at the show and that includes virtually, bear witness to the community we are inevitably forming. This community isn’t based on clout that some aim to get from their proximity to visible Black women, it’s about doing the work. The nasty, ugly work of compassion towards our own shadow. Many are called to do the work, few choose to actually do it. Thank you to @richiebrave for teaching me about the journey of friendship in many different ways. I appreciate you and love you so much. Thank you to @agnesmwakatuma and @micah_milaje for so many things I can’t even write publicly. THE REAL MVPS! 😭💛✨ Thank you @thenewblxck for being ever ready ✨ Thank you to @hannahakhalu for performing your HILARIOUS song! Thank you to the volunteers that made everything run soooo smoothly. 😛 Show time update!! 😛 Hey Baby people, I’m pulling all the bits together to deliver my rawest show yet. Life has been life-ing but I persevere. I’ve gone through the stage of shouting with my mum about whether I should cancel the show BUT I think it’s more of a reason to show up and show out. With that being said, due to factors outside of my control that I was made aware of only recently, the doors will now open at 6:30pm and show begins at 7pm. I look forward to seeing loads of you in person (your ‘ticket’ is your order number so have your confirmation email at the ready). There are still tickets to stream the live show online for £11. There’ll be a book signing afterwards and merch to purchase. See you next Saturday! PEACE!!✌🏾
