Manila Improv Festival 2026 I loved my time there. Seeing so many faces, familiar and new, warmed my heart. The amount of work put in was insane and I am grateful to the organisers for pulling off this monumental feat. I know what it is like first hand to have to organise a festival so I do thank you for the labour of love. 1 - Full house standing ovation was not on my bucketlist for 2026 but there we were, being shown such love and adoration by a wonderful audience. I am humbled and awed. 2/3/4 - One of the two teams that I have so much love for. Les Musicables has always been a blessing and this current iteration is the best we have ever been. Thank you everyone. 5/6/7 - A series of tech runs I had. The hard work behind putting a show together is often uncredited and missed. Thank you to Kuya Ronnie, Ate Leah, Zsaris and team for making us look and sound good every single evening. 8 - My favourite workshop of the festival. Movement has been something I always struggled with in my craft and I loved being pushed and challenged (and reminded to breathe) through the class. 9 - The unspoken dress code for opening night manifesting through hive mind. 10 - Tita Dinner with the beshie and other people who I guess we thought could sit with us. 11 - Jollibee night. He is one of the founders of Ask Auntie Productions that runs musical improv classes and manages ASAP Improv (@asap.improv ) and Les Musicables (@lesmusicables.sg ), two of Singapore’s premier improv teams. Timothy has coached and performed improvised musical theatre to audiences globally. As an actor, Timothy played the lead role of Mark in Singtheatre Academy’s <Rent> , Leaf Coneybear in <The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee> and has also participated in InArts Collective’s production of <放逐与追逐>. Ele é um dos fundadores da Ask Auntie Productions, que ministra aulas de improv musical e gerencia a ASAP Improv e a Les Musicables, duas das principais equipes de improv de Cingapura. Com a ASAP e a Les Musicables, Timothy treinou e apresentou peças de teatro musical improvisado para públicos em toda a Ásia na última década. Como ator, Timothy atua em teatro musical em inglês e em mandarim. Ele interpretou o papel principal de Mark em “Rent”, o papel de Leaf Coneybear em “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” e também participou da produção de <放逐与追逐>, da InArts Collective. VANG/ECHOES - The Improv Hub's Improv Residency 2026 I am still pinching myself over this. Having the honor of representing Singapore as one of four artists-in-residence at The Improv Hub's residency was truly a highlight of 2026 (and we are only in January?) I cannot begin to describe the talent of the artists that I got to work with over the course of ten days. In addition to that, we got to coach and direct an ensemble of ten in music and improvised theatre. I know there are many people out there who think of improv as a comedic entertainment device or that they feel improv is not artistic. These ten days spent prove otherwise. The talent, artistry and beauty that I have come to witness is living proof. To my fellow artists; @thezsaris I love the work that you do and watching you on your looper and dj pad is absolutely riveting. Thank you for teaching me the techniques behind what you do and I only aspire to be as good as you are. @pilarcabreramusic thank you for sharing your music, your know-how to teach voice and music. Most importantly, for uplifting me as a musician. I set out to challenge myself on the piano as an improv musician for this residency and without you (and Zsaris) constantly reminding me that I am good enough, I don't think I could have done this and felt this UH-MAY-ZING (iykyk). @davidmoncadava it is unfathomable that we started doing improv at the same time, halfway across the world from each other, met at the halfway point of our current journey (7 years ago) and then meet again now, only to realise how much our improv philosophy overlaps. I cannot wait to see where else our journey takes us. @le.kimthanhhh Cảm ơn for your generosity and foresight of bringing us together. The work that you're doing in Hanoi inspires me greatly and I am always always excited to play in Past Lives with you. There is a beauty in the way we communicate on stage in different languages and I am so glad I get to do it with you four times and counting. To the ensemble, thank you for being so open and willing to try the exercises we throw at you. Creating Vang as a format was easy but you made it breathtaking.

Day 2 of VANG/ECHOES - improvised performances of storytelling & musicality was very warmly received by the Hanoian audience at @ath.hanoi 🤗 If Day 1 was stories and melodies about fear, self, friendships, love, wishes, on Day 2, the 4 artists brought to us their original songs, then a fusion of improvised acts on rejection, discovery, patience, and so many more feelings of life.
