We asked @lauradoorneweerd and @gaelperry what were the reasones and benefits of organizing aninternational impro festival like @flock_festivalAnd this is what they told us:Gael: The reason I organize a festival is the same as the benefit: getting inspired by people, and having the chance to work with people who bring something unique and different.Laura: I think the two of us met at animprov festival, and we deeply love them. I find festivals such a delight. What was it about impro that scared you so much?My theater experience had always involved a script to hold onto.Having nothing to cling to felt like a cliff. Now I see it the opposite way: impro is a safety net I can always fall back on.Even in scripted theater, I no longer fear forgetting lines because I know impro is there.Thanks to it, I dare say I’m a better actress, with tools that help me act, audition, and create....¿Qué era lo que te daba tanto miedo de la impro?Mi contacto con el teatro siempre había sido a través de un texto al que aferrarme.No tener nada a lo que agarrarme me parecía un precipicio. Ahora lo veo al revés: la improvisación es una red sobre la que puedo caer.Incluso cuando hago teatro convencional, ya no tengo ese miedo a olvidar el texto, porque siento que siempre tengo la improvisación a mi disposición.Gracias a eso me atrevo a decir que soy mejor actriz, porque tengo herramientas que me ayudan tanto a actuar como a audicionar y crear.@natali.anna · Status #178

Why do you improvise?Because it reminds me that we are alive, that everything is capable of transforming, that the only stable thing is instability, that the best way to exist is by flowing and adapting, like water. It amuses me, it excites me. Happy Improvisers Day!There are celebrations for everything. So why not celebrate Improvisers Day?On October 14, 2012 , Austrian base jumper @therealfelixbaumgartner had the idea of rising into the stratosphere in a helium balloon and jumping back to Earth, falling at 1,400 km/h. Done.That was all we needed.⁣⁣An image. A representation. A symbol. Celebrate the leap into the void.Since then, we celebrate Improvisers Day every October 14th.And the best part is that, after all these years, I see people I don't know shout out to others or share posts about it. The idea transcends the person who proposes it.⁣So, if you want to join the celebration, welcome!⁣Let's celebrate!
