Hello! 👋
It’s been a while, so let me reintroduce myself. I’m Šárka, pronounced like shark with an a at the end, and I use she/her pronouns. 🩷
I grew up in a small Czech village in the east of the country. I was raised catholic but left the church as a teenager. I didn’t fully realise I’m queer until my late twenties; I really thought I’m just a very passionate ally. 🌈
This year marks 10 years since I moved abroad - I lived in Munich, Düsseldorf, Melbourne and Sydney, until I got to Berlin 5 years ago. 🌊
My background is in public relations and data analytics in corporates and a human rights non-profit. I’m a barista nowadays and I enjoy it. I don’t want to be a full-time artist, at least not at this point of life, I don’t think I’d find it enjoyable. But who knows what the future brings!* ☕️
I’m queer, feminist, neurodiverse, chronically ill, and childfree by choice. I love reading, crafting, baking, hiking, biking, swimming, and yapping. I’m a huge fan of cats, croissants, coffee, flowers, tattoos, spreadsheets, and pockets. 🚲
All those things shape who I am and what I create. I love the process of creating, but I also love the sharing. It makes me incredibly joyful that people like what I make. That it makes them smile, giggle, laugh. And even if it offends someone, my rebellious inner teenager gets happy. 🌸
*I definitely don’t know what will be in a few months or years, because given we live under a patriarchal, capitalist and violent system, my plans just keep changing. But hey, being flexible is good for a survival, right?
Barter economy? Yes, please 😍
What can we exchange?
My offer is ceramics, bookmarks, postcards, stickers and posters - all you know from the markets.
For:
✉️ your stickers, postcards, prints
👂 earrings
🪡 tattoo
🚲 teach me how to repair a bike
🔨 arts/crafts workshop
🕯️ candles
🫘 bag of coffee beans or some nice tea
🌼 flowers (but not plants, I’m not good with them)
🎟️ theater or concert tickets
🐈⬛ I’d also happily accept one kitten - if sourced ethically, responsibly and lovingly! (I’ve been wanting a cat for a while, so it’s not as silly as you might think)
❓ something you think I might like or want but haven’t thought of
From bisque fire to glaze fire. They get a bit smaller and much brighter. 🖤 I’m already excited to show them off at the next market! ☀️

🌼 I’ll be at @weddingmarkt this spring / early summer again! 🌼
I wasn’t sure whether to book any markets this year because of the (future) cafe, but why not. You can find me there in April, May and June 🖤
I collected some treasures from badass women today! I picked up some items at the @we.make.berlin market, and then when I got home, discovered @hildahoy ‘s book in my mailbox. I’m excited to spend time with it while also delighting in a print by @kathylaurenart , a ceramic pot/cup by @sarkamakesstuff and the hilarious beaded plastic bag with fish by @beltafseel
🌼 The very first opportunity to stop by and say hi is around the corner!
@we.make.berlin is hosting a pop-up market at @thebrazensquirrel in Fhain on Sunday 29.03. See you there! 💜

When I’m alone in the studio, I’m listening to audiobooks or podcasts. When I’m painting at home, I watch tv series. I’ve watched a lot of tv series. Honestly, I usually do things in batches: stamping, drawing, stems, poppies, daisies, details, … it saves time, but it still takes long hours to finish everything. This one was half an hour (I’m getting faster!). But it’s incredibly enjoyable process 🩷
THANK YOU 🖤
❄️ The last two weeks were exhausting and overwhelming, but I’d like to thank everyone who came to the markets, I keep saying the same thing over and over again, but your support really means a lot! All the smiles, nods, kind words. All the small bags I get to put the pink sticker on. They, well, you, make me so happy and grateful.
🫶 Thank you for supporting small businesses, makers and artists, it really is meaningful in so many ways. Please, if you can buy their things, continue to do so. And if you can’t afford it, follow the artist, like them, share them, spread the word!
🍬 Go to the niche and funny sounding markets, self-organised and community-based ones, they’re the ones that need support the most. Bring your friends. Even though kind words don’t pay the bills, they boost the morale.
✨ I’d like to finish this with a plea on behalf of the queer (and) art community:
Don’t say things like “I could make this”, “I could make it cheaper”, “no one needs this”, “who even buys this” (hi mom! 🫶) in front of the artists.
Yes, you most probably can and feel encouraged to do so (I know, queers especially love to do any and all arts and crafts and the money is tight), but you also don’t pay ~50-150€ for being at the market, you’re not trying to make living or support yourself with selling the stuff you made, are you? The capitalism, consumerism and current political climate is hard on you and us both.
Many artists (thankfully not all) pay themselves the minimum wage, have a second job, and often barely cover the costs. Apart from creating, we get to markets an hour early and finish an hour later, we spend time preparing for the market, some of us travel across the city and I even met people who are not from Berlin. It costs us money, time and energy. Many queer artists are neurodivergent, chronically ill and/or disabled and being at a market takes an extra toll on us.
Those words are hurtful. For individuals and the community.
And if the person saying it is your friend (or even a stranger if you’re not afraid of the confrontation), call them out. Tell them that they’re rude as hell and they need to check themselves and shut the fuck up.
Thanks! 🌈
❄️ Here’s a complete overview of my 2025 winter markets in Berlin. ❄️
If you happen to visit Prague, you can also stop by @safespacebookstore that has some of my ceramics, postcards and stickers on offer as well!
Whether you’re buying gifts for your loved ones or yourself, consider buying from local artists and makers instead of the big brands.
Hope to see you! Your support means the world to us. 🖤
We’re proudly introducing a second batch of talented artists and makers that you can support at our winter market: Ari @melted.edge , Kenny @bpd_eddiekaspbrak / @adhafera_shop , Patty @sym.patty.art , Šárka @sarkamakesstuff , and Vale @craftyfilmbutterfly / @valetitakis ✨
