I’ve been a Breathwork facilitator for maaannny years and something I find fascinating is that people are busy bees 🐝 filled with stress & anxiety and yet they wonder why they’re struggling with their libido or have a difficulty feeling pleasure inside the bedroom.

I hosted a workshop last week on Sensual Liberation and I got asked, “Is this going to be Rated R level?”
Which got me to thinking about how we talk about this topic SO little that people hear sensuality and immediately think sxxuality.
🚫 NOPE! 🚫
Let’s get a little nerdy for a moment, shall we?
Sensuality = the enjoyment, expression or pursuit of physical pleasure or something that is fulfilling to the senses
Pleasure = a feeling of happy satisfaction or enjoyment
Sxxuality = the quality or state of being sxxual or its about your sxxual feelings, thoughts, attractions and behaviors
aka
Our sensuality & pleasure can exist WITHOUT it being sxxual but our sxxuality should tap into our sensuality & pleasure to heighten the experience.
Most of the work that I do involves getting acquainted with what brings you joy & pleasure FAR before ever getting into the bedroom because if you can’t acknowledge what brings your the simplest of pleasures - how in the heck are you ever going to feel safe enough to dive deeper?

My ADHD brain loves to interrupt ¡my¡macy.
It throws out grocery lists during foreplay.
Worries about unfinished emails mid-cuddle.

For the longest time, traditional meditation just didn’t land for me. Sitting still in silence felt more like pressure than peace.
Then I learned about the transformational power of Breathwork but sometimes that feels too intense.
When I need to soften and feel at ease - I turned tea into a sensual ritual - something I could sip, hold, feel and savor.
I noticed that my nervous system began to soften with every cup. This simple act became my pathway back to presence, joy, and feeling safe in my body.

Listen, joy has not been the easiest thing for me to tap into these days. My latest PMDD cycle had me down & out emotionally but I am making the choice to seek joy this week and this breath pattern helped me immensely!

🦁 Lion’s Breathwork Guide 🦁
Find a comfortable seat, sit on your heels or in a cross-legged position. Rest your hands on your knees or place them on the floor in front of you.
Take a big breath in through your nose - filling your belly and chest completely.
Open your mouth wide as you forcefully exhale through your mouth - stick out your tongue as far as possible and make a HA sound.
You can let your eyes widen or gaze up toward the third eye - the space between your brows.
Repeat 3-5x and let yourself be silly!

The first time I ever saw someone else’s yoni - my shame and fear around my body dissipated immediately.
In that moment, I had an opportunity to fall in love with myself and shed the weight of inadequacy that I had been carrying.
For so many of us, learning about our anatomy was filled with gaps, shame or misinformation leading to confusion and fear which is why I chose to walk this path as a seggual educator.
When @yonilicious welcomed me into the world on seggual education and yoni massage in 2020 - I was petrified but now I can clearly see that this work is SO important.
So friend, I’d love for you to talk to your trusted mates about your fears, shame and anything that you keep hidden.
Open yourself up and share your fears because I bet you they’ve had them, too. Liberation is available when you share & grow with your community.
