At the heart of Sarabande is a dedication to craft - to artists deeply committed to material, process and the act of making itself. We’re reflecting on craft not simply as technique, but as a language of material, process and time. The hand remains visible throughout: repetitive gestures, instinctive processes, materials shaped through patience, precision and experimentation. In celebration of London Craft Week, we’re spotlighting a selection of works exploring contemporary craft through texture, repetition and material exploration. Discover our craft edit via the link in bio 🔗 __ House of Bandits is a gallery by Sarabande Foundation (@sarabandefoundation ) housing unique and limited-edition works by artists-in-residence and alumni. All purchases directly support the foundation, the artists and future generations of creatives.

Never a dull moment with Siphiwe 🎨 We stepped into @s_i_p_h_i_w_e ’s Haggerston studio… enjoy watching her bring drawings to life with pastel and oil sticks as she opens up about her practice and inspirations. Siphiwe Nokukhanya Mnguni is a British–Zimbabwean artist and curator whose multidisciplinary work explores the Black female figure and themes of identity, womanhood, community, and perception. Her work uses abstract figuration to celebrate diverse figures and reimagine how they are seen within contemporary culture.

🧵 Threads of care, stitched with memory… Last night, High Road resident Tom Hallimond (@stegodyphus ) led a beautiful Soft Sculpture Portraiture workshop at Sarabande as part of @londoncraftweek . Participants explored themes of care, memory, and lived experience through tactile, intuitive making — embracing loose threads, visible mending, irregular forms, and the emotional weight held in fabric. The evening celebrated the honest traces of the hand and the personal narratives that emerge when materials are allowed to respond. A heartfelt thank you to Tom and everyone who brought their stories, garments, and presence to the session. ❤️

So many of us fall in love with a creator or a brand not just for what they make, but for the world they create. From colors and visuals to tone of voice and storytelling, the most memorable creators and brands don’t just exist—they immerse us. In a crowded digital space, building a strong identity isn’t optional; it’s what makes people stop, connect, and come back for more. To unpack what makes a strong creative identity, we brought together Emma Hope Allwood, Christopher Lawson, and Emily Chapps to discuss world-building, storytelling, aesthetics, and how to create a cohesive presence across your practice. Here are some key quotes from the panel discussion ➡️

What a Joy this studio is! Joy Bonfield Colombara (@joy_bc ) is a goldsmith and sculptress whose practice both honors and deconstructs classical representations of femininity, mythology, and beauty. Her work is rich in narrative, blending wearable art with miniature sculpture to explore themes of deconstruction and reconstruction. Here she is finishing up a pair of engagement rings with diamond and saphire, polishing before they’re sent off to the happy couple!
