are you a queer, female or BIPOC below-the-line film crew worker in los angeles? did you know that there are affordable (sometimes free!) therapeutic and financial resources available to you?
below-the-line film crew workers are suffering immense job loss in the wake of LA’s poor tax incentives, studio consolidation, and post-strike recovery. among the most effected are those with intersectional identities (Sakoui, 2020) including queer, female or BIPOC folks. job loss can result in severe financial and psychological distress, for which mental health resources can be incredibly helpful (roemer et al., 2020). scroll through the slides to see a list of resources!

my dad was the sweetest man to have ever graced this earth. he gave much with his grounded and gentle presence, and required very little. there are not words to express how much i will miss my dear pop, nor the endless love my family and i feel for him.
my dad chose to donate his brain to science through a nonprofit organization called Brain Support Network. BSN facilitates brain donations for individuals diagnosed with various neurological disorders, therefore providing researchers with the brain tissue they need to both confirm (or change) a diagnosis post-mortem, and further study the brain tissue itself. in lieu of flowers, my family and i would greatly appreciate any donations made on behalf of my dad to Brain Support Network. you can donate at: /donate/

you guys ever talk on the phone with one of your brothers and your dad in the same day and the separate conversations make you v emotional for different reasons and all the sudden you’re done just sitting in the post-conversation thought and you’re like wow how powerful is it that both these humans have had such a tremendous effect on me and wow how lucky am i that i get to communicate with them and wow the things that make these people individuals makes me reflect on what makes me an individual and part of that is that i’m never not thinking about a lot of things at once and maybe i could appreciate that more about myself and also appreciate the wonderful amazing people i have in my life and whoa gratitude is moving
