My new song ‘Smoke Gets In My Eyes’ is out now on all music listening platforms ꩜
I wrote this song after a visit to Taiwan with my mother, where we had attended the week long funeral procession of my 外婆 , her mother.
This song is to honour the everlasting maternal love that burns on, like a protective mosquito coil, deep into humid night. It is about becoming friends with my mother, and understanding that she is someone’s daughter too. That I lose her one day, as I witnessed her loss.
