Watching this made me so happy, a real sense of pride hearing two incredible musicians react to 1D’s live show and speak so positively about my playing. Feeling appreciated means a lot, especially after all the work, dedication and commitment it took to shape and craft those lines and grooves for the 1D movie. Huge thanks to the legendary @jonshone for always encouraging me to let loose and truly play, an MD style I’ve carried forward into my own MD work. And of course my good mate @joshdevinedrums a bass player is nothing without a solid drummer, and they don’t come much better than Josh. Still holding so much love for that time Thanks for the kind words @twerkethicshow it’s hugely appreciated.

It’s been a whole decade since this final X Factor performance with @onedirection What a way to close out five special years. Whoever was on broadcast mix that day was a legend — the bass was pushed in the mix massively! The Stingray was growling!

An honour to join @ollymurs for a small part of his mammoth 400km challenge for @unicef_uk @socceraid what an incredible show of heart and grit from Olly, total legend. Great to run with olympian and lovely guy @adamgemili too Thanks to @mreventsatw and @eventsatw for inviting me along, it’s always a pleasure to run with you. And to @shannabeales and the kids for always being so supportive at the finish line. Olly is raising funds for unicef during this challenge, if you can, please consider donating. It’s such a worthy cause. We are looking forward to being at the match at the end of the month.

Beware the bear 🐻 … And Kangaroo! 🦘 Was awesome to have @sandybeales on the pod to chat about how to escape from all manner of animals 🤣. Also @zoelyonscomedy was chased by a badger 🦡 once. esther has (as far as we know) never been chased by an animal unfortunately. Give his episode a listen! Also big shout out to @eventsatw and @mreventsatw for all they do for the pod! They organise brilliant running and tri events every weekend. Maybe see you on one soon! #running #runningpodcast #runninglife #runnerproblems

Some of the standout performances from artists such as Harry Styles, Rosalía and RAYE at this year's inaugural Manchester-hosted BRIT awards shared a common architecture: choir. Not choir as an ornament within the songs, but as a key part of their structure. Choral vocals do something production alone cannot. Layered human voices create harmonic density and emotional lift that feels expansive. The sound widens, the message deepens. A solo becomes collective. There’s a reason why this lands so powerfully. Singing together synchronises breathing, strengthens social bonding and heightens shared focus. You don’t just witness it - you participate in it. One of LAVS’ team, @sandybeales , spent years touring the world with Harry Styles for all of the One Direction era - including performing in past BRITs broadcasts. Now he works as MD with artists such as JP Cooper, Caty Baiser and Dylan, arranging the tunes and honing the sound for their tours and performances. This experience - of directing and performing in arena-scale concerts - now walks into the room with our clients. When people step into a LAVS session, they don’t sit and watch the choir. They become it. Guided by musicians like Sandy who are at home on stages like the BRITs, they feel what it means to hold a line, listen across the room, and contribute to something larger than themselves. It’s not about performance. It’s about participation in something bigger than the individual. Find out what LAVS could do for you or your team - link in bio. #lavocalsessions #lavs #thebrits #corporateexperiences

We have a really exciting Podcast episode today!!!!! In this episode, we’re joined by Sandy Beales, the talented bass guitarist best known for touring with One Direction. Beyond the stage, Sandy has discovered another passion—running. What began as a simple way to lose weight after a year on tour soon became something much more meaningful. Sandy shares how running evolved into a powerful tool for improving both his physical health and mental well-being. From the challenges of getting started to the joy of building consistency, his journey is honest, relatable, and inspiring. We talk about the mental clarity that running brings, the role of music in shaping his runs, and the importance of community and family support along the way. Sandy also opens up about his personal goals, including taking on marathons and setting meaningful milestones that keep him motivated. This episode is perfect for anyone who’s just starting their running journey, looking to deepen their relationship with running, or curious about how movement can transform both body and mind. Whether you’re chasing your first 5K or simply looking for inspiration to get moving, Sandy’s story is a reminder that running can change far more than your fitness—it can change how you feel every day.
