Out today! SANAM: Sametou Sawtan (CST186) SANAM’s second album Sametou Sawtan is released worldwide today on Constellation. Available now on 180g vinyl LP, CD in custom mini-gatefold jacket, and digital download/streaming. Orders are shipping from Bandcamp and cstrecords.com, and the record is streaming everywhere. Recorded in August 2024 at La Frette Studios near Paris with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh @radwanghazimoumneh , and mastered by @heba_kadry , Sametou Sawtan documents SANAM’s expansion as a six-piece ensemble working across disciplines and traditions. The album artwork and design are by Omar Khouri and Farah Fayyad @farahfayyad . SANAM are: Sandy Chamoun @sandy_chamoun - vocals Farah Kaddour @farah.kad - buzuq Anthony Sahyoun @anthony____sahyoun – guitar, electronics Marwan Tohme @marwantohme – guitar, electronics Antonio Hajj @antniohaj.wav - bass Pascal Semerdjian @pas_makdous – drums, percussion Across eight tracks, SANAM move through ritual song, collective improvisation, and dense rhythmic interplay, tracing shared memory while carving new sonic terrain. Advance singles “Harik” and “Habibon”, accompanied by videos directed by Joe Saade @joesaa and Mizyed Azrai @mizyedazrai , offered glimpses of the group’s approach. Sametou Sawtan presents the complete scope of this work: raw and refined, urgent and resonant. “Confrontational, progressive and at times deeply beautiful, SANAM’s music is a thrilling example of the magic that can come from chaos.” - Tom Pinnock, @uncut_magazine 8/10 “An intense and brooding fusion of doomy post-punk, psychedelia, electronics, and free improvisation (…) SANAM’s new album Sametou Sawtan sees them moving away from unmoored group spontaneity in favour of more compact and coherent tunes.” - Daniel Spicer, The Wire @thewiremagazine Album stream & physical editions via link in bio. 🚨THURSDAY 2nd July, 7pm GLEO PRESENTS; For the third installment our 90mil series, we are honoured to invite; Ghadr - غدر This trio is made up of three highly regarded Lebanese artists: Sandy Chamoun, Anthony Sahyoun, both members of the iconic band SANAM, alongside Jad Atoui, himself a highly regarded musician, composer, and electronic sound experimentalist in Lebanon. Writing for this project began during a residency in 2023 and was later completed in their home city of Beirut. The work has only been performed a handful of times across Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in 2024, and Europe in 2025. This will be the first performance in Germany, and is certain to be a special one. (@anthony____sahyoun @sandy_chamoun @jadatoui ) Aalia (dj) Joining us for our event is one of our favourite DJs in the Berlin scene, Aalia Iraki. Rooted in emotion, storytelling, and deep listening, her sets move fluidly across genres — from downtempo and ambient textures to hypnotic percussion, breaks, and leftfield electronics — always guided by mood and feeling. Coming up through Berlin’s DIY party culture, she has developed a warm and immersive approach to DJing, with sets that unfold patiently and intuitively. She is also the host of Within Those Four Chambers on Refuge Worldwide, a radio show exploring the relationship between music, memory, and space — where each episode inhabits a different visual setting inviting listeners into intimate, multi sensory listening journeys. @aaliairaki Food by Begzo Drawn from a wide range of cultural influences, her food bridges traditional and bold flavors & prepared with intention. We are really excited to have some beautifully made food available at 19:00 on the night. @ccarolehassoun ————————————————————————— We try to keep prices as low as possible so there are no barriers to access for these events, however if you are in a tough financial spot and cannot afford this price, we have a number of solidarity tickets available. Please reach out to us here or via email. Price €15 (+ €5 Membership fee for 90mil) Tickets on the door ( Poster by @compost_mix )

Following the successful collaboration in 2024, we are presenting this year’s connection with the ever more progressive collective @heartnoizepromotion . This year, we conceived the program as a highly diverse selection of three musical acts: the breathtaking Lebanese project Ghadr, moving on the edge of Bedouin contemplation and abrasive noise; the Egyptian artist @ltfll__ with his club deconstructions; and the fresh name emerging from the London grime empire, @whosnori . Our tour with Sanam was around 12 concerts across Europe, and I couldn’t bring myself to say a word about Lebanon. It was one of the hardest weeks mentally. I felt like I’d be lying if I spoke on stage, got applause, then continued singing like nothing happened. If I opened the subject of Lebanon, the occupation of the south, and the massacres, I don’t think I would’ve been able to continue the concert. I also don’t want to be part of the trend of shouting “cease fire now” just to feel better about ourselves while nothing really changes for the people in the South and Lebanon as a whole and in palestine. Now back to lebanon feeling much better,at least i am not afraid i am full of rage and sadness back to reality 🤍

Do you think sharing photos of dead babies from Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, or Syria will stop these crimes? It’s actually the opposite!they thrive on this moment, craving more terror and more blood. The state of Israel will continue this bloodshed, and no one will stop them. This is the reality, so please stop sending sad faces or broken hearts, and let’s face it at least.

I live in beirut, and I feel ashamed to witness massacre after massacre for three years in a row, yet still have the same reaction! shock! without taking any action to stop this. What about you?

@SceneNoise : Arguably, one of the most inventive projects in the Lebanese independent music scene, Ghadr - consisting of vocalist and performer Sandy Chamoun, composer and programmer Anthony Sahyoun and sound artist and improviser Jad Atoui - has built a name for themselves through its avant-garde, socially-conscious music. From ghostly interpretations of Bedouin folk songs to reflections on the genocide in Gaza, their sound is deeply rooted in electronic experimentations, blending vibrant, distorted circuits of guitar and modular synthesis with stuttering sub bass layered atop melancholic vocals rooted in classical Arabic singing. At the 2025 edition of Utrecht’s Le Guess Who? Festival, where Ghadr performed their self-titled record, we spoke with Sandy Chamoun and Jad Atoui about the meaning behind their project’s name and their on-stage creative process. They described how the genocide in Gaza and Lebanon shaped their compositional approach, leaving a lingering sense of betrayal that permeates their music. The duo also reflected on the festival’s significance, highlighting the intimate connection they feel with Le Guess Who? despite its scale, and the chance to present their work to a broad, diverse audience.
