I’ve calculated that I’ve worked with
@sunnofficial for 20 years now, starting during my tenure at Southern Records in approx 2006. 2009’s Monoliths & Dimensions was the first sunn O))) album that I promoted, which in many ways felt like a tipping point, and it’s been truly incredible to see their trajectory since…
Working with
@subpop on their tenth album - that has just been released on Friday - has been an absolute dream. The energy of the entire team has been really exciting as is their openness to creative ideas and opportunities. This feels like such a great moment!
The press coverage has been amazing too, so many brilliant articulations about the music and their history which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading. They got their second cover for
@thewiremagazine !!! (the first was with M&D) and that has been a fun challenge to help bring to life and with such an incredible cover by Savage Pencil (
@flyzruz ) Playing a key part in organising their London album listening event at The Social with The Wire Magazine (big props to Emily and Joe) was a proud moment. Hosting fans and friends for an early preview of the album was such a great experience.
There’s been other brilliant features too, including a substantial and interesting one in Uncut and a different take on the enduring power of durational music in Crack Magazine. There’s an amazing Album of the month review in Mojo with an awesome illustration inspired by Charles Peterson’s photos. An album of the week review in The Guardian, Album of the Week review in The Quietus, **** reviews in The Times and The Observer. Plus a residency on
@nts_radio (ongoing) and a wonderful End Of Days Feature on BBC Radio 6 Music with
@maryannehobbs_ This and so much more!
With the UK and European tour coming up in the summer, I’m so))) excited to see what comes next!
