The doors are now open! šŸ‘šŸ» MADCOW Bendigo is officially operating and providing services to people experiencing homelessness in our community. This building exists because a group of donors, partners, and local businesses chose to step forward and support something that Bendigo genuinely needs. Their contribution has created a place of safety, dignity, and access to support for people who are often overlooked. šŸ™ SANDEMAN Build was proud to be a part of this project and to contribute to a space that will deliver real, lasting benefit to the Bendigo community. Thank you to every donor who made this possible. The impact of this space will be felt well beyond its walls, through stronger connections, better outcomes, and a more supported community. This is the first step. More to come. MADCOW Series | Reel 1 of 7

A quiet corner, a framed view, and a seat that invites you to slow down for a moment. šŸƒ In the Trentham House, this window seat was designed to do more than fill a space. It creates a connection to the landscape outside, bringing light, calm, and the backyard greenery into everyday living. The best spaces in a home are often the simplest ones, thoughtfully designed to feel good to live in.

Trentham House balances texture and form through a restrained material palette. Vertical galvanised iron cladding is paired with horizontal Silver Top Ash shiplap cladding, creating contrast and rhythm across the faƧade. External double-glazed doors open the home to its surroundings, strengthening the connection between inside and out. šŸ‚ Ribbed black wall sconces echo the profile of the corrugated iron, adding a subtle layer of detail that ties the composition together.

A space designed to feel calm, considered, and connected to its surroundings. šŸ‚ The main bathroom at this Trentham home pairs full-height tiling with a framed view out to the trees, bringing in natural light and a sense of quiet throughout the space.

Light doesn’t just fill a space, it shapes how it’s experienced. In this Trentham bathroom, VELUX skylights introduce a softer, more considered kind of light. It moves across the tiles, shifts with the day, and brings a quiet sense of rhythm into the room. Paired with wall sconces and layered materials, the result is balanced rather than bright, calm rather than clinical. šŸƒ A space designed to be felt as much as it is seen.

Light moves differently when it’s invited in with intent. In this Trentham home, three VELUX skylights draw the outside in, capturing the quiet movement of surrounding trees and allowing natural light to shift throughout the day. It’s not just brightness, it’s atmosphere, changing subtly from morning to afternoon. There’s often a concern that overhead glazing can feel harsh or overexposed. But when it’s considered within the architecture, the result is controlled, balanced, and deeply connected to its environment. The play of shadow and softness across the interior creates a sense of calm that artificial lighting can’t replicate. You notice the space more. You feel the time of day. You experience the home, rather than just occupy it. Nothing here is incidental. Every opening is placed with purpose, shaping how the home feels to live in. Architectural in thinking. Grounded in experience. Designed to bring the outside in, without compromise.

Texture. Craft. Considered detail. šŸ‚ In this Trentham home, the materials do the talking. Expansive wood grain joinery brings warmth and depth, wrapping the space in natural tone and quiet sophistication. Gorgeous feature tiling adds contrast and character, grounding the palette with subtle pattern and texture. Stone benchtops introduce durability and refinement, while integrated strip lighting highlights every line and surface with intention. Nothing feels excessive. Every element has a purpose. Architectural in detail. Functional in design. Built for everyday living, without compromise.

In this Trentham build, expansive timber joinery stretches all the way to the ceiling, turning storage into architecture. VELUX skylights wash the room in natural light, drawing your eye upward and amplifying the sense of volume. Stone benchtops and textured tiles ground the room with weight and refinement, while split-level burnished concrete flooring subtly defines each zone. Custom pendant lighting floats within the void, softening the scale and adding warmth. It’s a careful balance of height and intimacy.
Light and structure.
Material and comfort. A custom home designed to feel open, yet deeply considered in every detail.

Celebrating Apprentice Excellence šŸ† At the 2026 Master Builders Victoria Bendigo - Regional Apprentice of the Year function, Josh was recognised with an Excellence Award, a proud milestone in his second year as an apprentice. Nominated by Bendigo TAFE’s Torin Coakley, this achievement reflects the consistency, commitment and skill Josh brings to site every day. Awards like this are earned through early mornings, attention to detail and a willingness to keep learning, even when the work is demanding. We are incredibly proud to see his dedication recognised at a regional level. The future of our industry depends on young tradespeople who take pride in their craft, and Josh is a strong example of that. šŸ”Ø Congratulations to all the other nominees and winners on the night. The standard across our region continues to rise, and it is great to see so many apprentices acknowledged for their effort and professionalism. Well deserved, Josh. šŸ‘šŸ»
