It’s a very different sculpture from day to night. This seemingly levitating architectural drawing is brought to life at night through flash photos and vehicle headlights. This work reimagines and explores the possibilities of existing, abandon structures found on back roads and highways across the country. Hoping this is just a sketch for things to come! Thanks @ghostoffoodshark for your help in Texas!

#Repost @njartsnews with @use.repost ・・・ @trismccall_nj reviews “Contemporary Volumes” — featuring works by @samuellegreen , @cherylrriley , @susanrostow , @colette_fu , @dianaschmertz , @briandettmerstudio , amanda_love_atelier and others — at @morrismuseum in Morris Township. Tris says the shows is “a thriller” in which curator Bryant Small “plainly believes that books are in big trouble. He has gathered nine excellent artists to investigate the forces that bedevil literacy. They do it with tough, colorful, dramatic pieces, some of which use entire chambers of the special exhibition gallery to make their conflicted feelings apparent.” /169596

We encountered the most gorgeous art exhibit in the Main Gallery at the @morrismuseum . . “Contemporary Volumes” (on display until MARCH 2026) is a collection of art created by Brian Dettmer, Colette Fu, Samuelle Green, Cheryl Gross, Amanda Love, Sarah Matthews, Cheryl R. Riley, Susan Rostow, and Diana Schmertz. . My favorite piece from the exhibit had to be Permutation 3, (2025) created by Samuelle Green. The swirls of books pages resembling dahlia petals took my breath away once I turned into this wing. The pages danced around the room in a chaotic yet graceful way, carrying around wooden chairs that seemed almost weightless. . “Books have long served as vessels of knowledge, storytelling, and memory. In this exhibition, the book is reimagined not only as an object of content, but as a site of transformation—where material, meaning, and message converge. Through sculpture, installation, and mixed media, Contemporary Volumes explores how artists use the form, function, and symbolism of books to challenge conventions, reshape narratives, and expand the possibilities of both art and language.”- /on-view/current/contemporary-volumes . #njmuseum #newjerseyblogger #newjerseyartist #morriscountynj #visitnj

Over the course of five days, artist Samuelle Green and her team, constructed a large-scale, one-of-a-kind immersive installation for the exhibition “Contemporary Volumes.” Books have long served as vessels of knowledge, storytelling, and memory. In this exhibition, the book is reimagined not only as an object of content, but as a site of transformation—where material, meaning, and message converge. Through sculpture, installation, and mixed media, “Contemporary Volumes” explores how artists use the form, function, and symbolism of books to challenge conventions, reshape narratives, and expand the possibilities of both art and language. “Contemporary Volumes” features the works of nine artists from across the US: Brian Dettmer, Colette Fu, Samuelle Greene, Cheryl Gross, Amanda Love, Sarah Matthews, Cheryl R. Riley, Susan Rostow, and Diana Schmertz. Support for this exhibition is provided by M&T Bank Charitable Foundation. #paperartist #design #installation_art #morrismuseum #ContemporaryVolumesNJ @samuellegreen Caption: Samuelle Green, Permutation 3, 2025.
