~multilog(ue), ‘Can Craft Save the World?’ at ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026 Ayaz Basrai, Karishma Swali, Samuel Ross, Tarini Jindal Handa and Aric Chen, staged a provocative exchange between design thinking and craft thinking, two fundamentally different ways of knowing, learning and shaping the world. The conversation explored what a curriculum of craft thinking might look like, one that prioritised making as thinking, process over product and depth over speed. ~log(ue) powered by JSW Group at the backdrop of ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026. ~epilog(ue), ‘Bawa’s Garden’ at ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026 “I started to think about loneliness and started to think about the ways in which we inhabit the gardens of our own making. And when we look out from those gardens, sometimes we feel by ourselves, even if we are surrounded by others.” - Sean Anderson, at the Tata Theatre following the showcase of ‘Bawa’s Garden’. ~log(ue) powered by JSW Group at the backdrop of ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026. DESIGN DIALETCS @stir_world x @nieuweinstituut An Open Call A Project A Resistance to Full Stops, Cannons, Standardisation, Institutionalisation A reflection on where we're at STIR, and stirring things up collectively! In this 4th edition of Design Drafts themed, 'Design Dialects', make with us some new ways of reading, writing and recognising design. SUBMIT through the *link in bio* before May 15, 2026. "A dialect is a window into how people take their place in the world—how they joke, argue, remember and relate to one another.", says @joharskhan in her evocative writing. Resistance always finds its power in solidarity and that for this project comes from @delanyboutkan at Nieuwe Instituut - The Netherland's national museum for Architecture, Design and Digital Culture. #OpenCall #DesignDrafts #DesignWriting #STIRworld #NieuweInstituut

~epilog(ue) - ‘Pina – 3D’ at ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026 "She mocked virtuosity, not because she was a postmodern contemporary dancer, but more about the fact that she wanted to go deeper into the fascia, into the body and see where it comes from." - Terence Lewis, at the Tata Theatre in response to the film ‘Pina’, screened in 3D, by filmmaker Wim Wenders. ~log(ue) powered by JSW Group at the backdrop of ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026. TWO SUNSETS From the Himalayas to the Arabian Sea Have you noticed how suddenly the sun dunks itself into the sea? Someone said, the last flash is a shade of green. While over mountains, it continues to paint a riot until your breath melts into silhouettes bigger than human dreams. #IndiaWinters

Not much is different, Yet everything has changed. 3 years, 2 continents and many stories apart I met @aiww again. The first was at the @designmuseum London while curating a public programme for the artist's first show at any 'Design Museum' presenting him as a collector, architect and activist - Ai Weiwei: Making Sense (2023) And the second, last week on home ground, interviewing him for @stir_world during his debut visit to India and his first solo show at @naturemorte_india during @indiaartfair I got thinking about the 're' as a technique for recognising invisible shifting currents of constant change made palpable by re-meeting people, rereading a book and revisiting places.

Why Cloth Still Matters: Contemporary Practices in Global South Join us for a conversation with artist Thandiwe Muriu (@thandiwe_muriu ) and curator Sreyansi Singh (@sreyansisingh ), moderated by Samta Nadeem (@samtanadeem ), curatorial director at STIR (@stir_world ), exploring why cloth continues to matter as both material and method within renewed practices in contemporary art. In South Asia and Africa, cloth carries memory, identity, labour, and history in its threads, where textile has long been shaped by trade, empire, migration, and the work of women, moving between the intimate and the political. Across photography, research, and material practice, textile becomes a site of visibility, resistance, reimagining and archiving. 🗓️ 7 February, 2026 🕓 4 pm 📍STIR, 2 North Drive, DLF Chattarpur Farms, New Delhi OPEN TO ALL: No prior registration required This talk is presented by @indiaartfair , in association with @fdciofficial for @indiaartfair_ycp Artist Thandiwe Muriu is represented by 193 Gallery (@193gallery ) Image Credits: Sreyansi’s Portrait Courtesy: Bikash Choudhary Samta Portrait Courtesy: Davy Denke

Spending time @stir_world Festival @ncpamumbai was a gentle reminder of why I enjoy engaging with design beyond the finished object. The Jaquar Pavillion park so deeply rooted in Mumbai’s built environment—made me pause. To notice the layers, the chaos, the intelligence, and the quiet intent that shapes the city. It wasn’t about spectacle or statements, but about perspective…about seeing familiar narratives with fresh eyes. The film screenings curated by @adfilmfest added another layer altogether, while the ~log(ue) sessions sparked conversations that stayed with me long after they ended. Honest, curious, and genuinely enriching. From the energy of the preview night to the quieter moments spent within the pavilions, this felt like a festival that allowed space to reflect, to question and to appreciate the thinking behind design. Immersive, considered, and deeply relevant. Grateful to @amitondesign and @samtanadeem for bringing together a festival that celebrates not just design, but dialogue, depth, and intent. 🩵
