I guess when it rains, it pours, and no amount of Imodium or Pepto was stopping the floodgates. Not sure if the DNF at Chatty or food poisoning was worse…
After 10 years of active duty service, I’ve spent years apart from my husband due to deployments and TDYs, moved 5 times - always thousands of miles away from family, and said goodbye to so many amazing friends. Through all this, I’ve always been alright, but yesterday, I was hit with an extreme feeling of loneliness. Maybe it was a long week of work, the emotional fatigue of a race build, or the compounding effect of another week alone.
When I got home from work, there was a package at my door. A fresh new TTL devo kit. I threw it on, went for a ride, and remembered that sport has and will always give me consistency, reliability, and community. That thought made me less lonely.
I don’t know why I am sharing any of this, especially here. I guess it’s something for me to look back on, know how lucky I truly am, and a reminder that there’s always a community of support around. @that.triathlonlife
I read a book once that said “it has been conjectured that at least one percent of the population is psychopathic. Genetically these individuals are fearless; they are people users and supreme manipulator. On the right side, they are terrific spies, war heroes, five star generals, corporate billionaires, triathletes. On the wrong side, they are strikingly evil: the Hitlers, the Richard specks, the Ted Bundys, antisocial but clinically sane people who commit atrocities for which they feel no remorse and assume no blame.” Or something like that…

Spring was in the air. Morale was high. We were getting closer to leaving the garage. Then second winter hit… The turns are still aight, tho @that.triathlonlife
Whirlwind of a day! Coming home with a 4th place finish at 70.3 Dallas. Ran further than I swam, definitely not upset about it

After a whole lot of the above, it’s finally go time! 70.3 Dallas-Little Elm tomorrow!
Unfortunately, the mail to Alaska is pretty slow so I won’t be repping the TTL kit, but if you see F18 out there give me a “run faster!”

Ready to turn frostbite into sunburn.
Headed into the first race week of the 2026 season with 70.3 Dallas this Sunday! Any one else heat training for every race of the season?
Introducing Team Devo athlete Sam Skold:
Kona AG World Champ, Air Force Captain, and our first “Alaskan Triathlete” on the TTL Devo roster. We’re stoked to support Sam as she balances the rugged mountain trails and the pursuit of pro racing this season!
• Primary Discipline: Full Distance / 70.3

The goal of the TTL DEVO team remains: identify young athletes with the potential to succeed as professional triathletes and give them a boost through mentorship, platform, and new for this year, GEAR. We’re super grateful to be sharing the support of Orca, Tailwind, Foreign Rider, Castelli, Thump Coffee, and Wahoo as the team takes on the 2026 season.
