Hi, I’m Samee! 👋🤓 I’m a Lifestyle Photographer based in Sydney’s Inner West on Gadigal Land.
I looove love love working 1:1 with artists & makers to capture their story as well as getting to work at large scale multi-day events delivering THOUSANDS of photos a year.
I spent 14 years in the design industry prior to this, as a Graphic & UX Designer, so actualising brands and creating content really is my jam 🍓
When I’m not at a shoot, I’m at home with my cat bestie Hazel (@heyhazeylady ), in my editing cave or reading a book & enjoying the view from my balcony.
How ‘bout you? 🥰
Last month we had the pleasure of hosting Dr @alex.schnell to lead a class where we discussed and painted the extremely venomous Southern Blue-Ringed Octopus!
Participants included award-winning underwater photographer @taliagreisphotography , Jen who is the outdoor teacher/nature advocate behind @randwickmarinelife , diver @jo.cousteau , among other nature lovers, so you can only imagine just how fun and interesting this whole class was!
@samsette returned to the Coconut Crab studio to take the most fabulous photos of the day, so swipe left to see a selection and I’ll put a link on stories so you check out them all out.
Thank you @alex.schnell for sharing your knowledge of all things cephalopods, underwater mysteries, @randwickmarinelife for gifting every participant of the class a framed copy of the photo you took of a Blue-lined octopus spotted here in Sydney and everyone else for participating and making it one of my favourite classes yet!
Next week I’ll be advertising the September classes, with Newsletter subscribers getting a head’s up as to their availability so make sure you are on the list if you’d like to book your spot.

Last month the wonderful Samee Lapham did a photoshoot of my ceramics.
I can share some of the beautiful shots that show off the clay detail and intricacies of all the pieces.
So delighted to present these through @brendacolahanfineart at Sydney Contemporary, stand J07, 10-14 September at Carriageworks, Sydney.
Thank you also to @van.flix for expert setup and lighting.
A big thanks to @alphemistersculpture who made the bespoke steel supports.

The home studio of ceramic artist Amanda Langley @amanda.langley.artworks 🎨
I recently had the pleasure of capturing Amanda's creative space, finished pieces, parts of her process and portraits she could use on social media, for press opportunities, and for exhibition and market applications.
Amanda said this was a big step for her, but saw the opportunity to step in front of my camera as a way to ‘finally’ invest in her practice, with the goal to further develop her ceramic work in the year ahead — and I couldn’t have been more inspired when I heard this! 👏
Working with porcelain clay and lots of different powdered stains, Amanda’s vibrant hand-built pieces reflect her love of stained glass, colour, pattern and texture, and I loved getting to witness her in action amongst a setting that is filled with inspiration and objects from fellow artists she admires.
Want to capture content of you in your creative space? 📸 I’m taking bookings for photoshoots in June and beyond right now, so send me a DM and let’s take some photos together 👋🤓

Something that comes up all the time when people inquire about a shoot with me:
💬 “My studio isn’t much, I’m not sure if it will work.”
💬 “It’s tiny and really messy in here.”
💬 “Maybe we should hire a different space”
And to that, I say: No way 😉
Your studio—whether it’s a shared space, a spare room, a garage, or a tiny corner of your home—is where the magic happens. It’s where your hands are deep in clay, paint, paper, textile and the like; where your ideas take shape; where your work truly *lives*. That’s what makes it worth capturing.
A ‘perfect’ studio isn’t what makes a good photo.
It’s the light, the details, the tools, the textures, the way your hands move, the quiet moments between the making. And that exists in any space.
So if your studio isn’t spotless, styled, or spacious, don’t let that hold you back. There are so many stories waiting to be told—and I’m here to help you see it.
Drop me a message if this is the nudge you needed, and let’s create some content together? 📸✨

Here’s what nobody tells you about opening an online print shop: If you don’t make time for marketing, you don’t get many orders 😆🙈 Guilty.
I have a stack of beautiful fine art photographic prints looking for new homes, so I’m bringing them to the Imperfectly Perfect Market at Marrickville Library Pavilion next weekend!
🗓️ Saturday 12th April 2025
🕙 10am–3pm
📍 Marrickville Library Pavilion
I’ll be alongside an amazing crew of local creatives — selling their ceramics, jewellery, illustrations, and more. Come say hi, have a browse, and pick up some beauties with market day discounts.
See you there?

The beautiful ceramic studio of Sydney-based artist @araceli_adams , which was a joy to capture during one of her student workshops late last year.
Araceli’s hand-painted porcelain plate designs are inspired by Australia’s rich biodiversity, featuring the wonder, curiosity and COLOUR of oceanic creatures 🦞 and this group were walked through techniques to paint an Australian Tropical Rock Lobster while they learnt more about its habitat and incredible characteristics from a visiting marine ecologist 😎
As the climate changes and natural habitats are threatened, Araceli hopes her work as an artist elicits wonder and joy so we may be more inclined to value and preserve what we have 💚🌏
If you host workshops or would like your studio space captured, send me a DM — I’m now booking for April and beyond 📸

Alright 👉 We’re now into Feb, I’ve procrastinated enough (and you probably have too), and it’s time to kick things up a notch 😉 Let's take some photos!
I believe there's something truly powerful in the way we use imagery to create meaning and connection. And I want to put that power in the hands of artists, makers, and creatives like you.
With a blend of storytelling and strategy, let’s create a library of images for you to use across your website, social media, press & media opportunities, digital advertising, market applications — the list goes on — images really are everything.
Here’s how we can work together in 2025:
📸 Brand & Lifestyle Photography
From ‘in-the-making’ moments to vignettes of your workspace to candid portraits of you/your team, these natural everyday rhythms are where unexpected charm can be discovered and help your audience connect with you beyond a finished product.
📸 Product Photography
With thoughtful styling and an editorial eye, let’s capture your products in their best light and beautifully on brand — they were made to be treasured, worn, hung on the wall or housing a favourite plant, so let’s build a story and capture them that way.
📸 Event Photography
From small creative workshops to large-scale multi-day events, I use an observational, photojournalist approach to focus on moments of real-life connection and create imagery that portrays the unique vibe of your event.
📱 Lo-fi Video Content
If you’re in a pickle about creating video content for social media, let’s remedy that. I’m excited to now offer lo-fi video content, created for you!
📝 1:1 Content Workshops
Feeling stumped by what to post on social media altogether? There is so much power in original imagery, and knowing how to use it is the most exciting part! There’s likely hundreds of ways you can be connecting with your audience, but sometimes, a helping hand is what we need to define them and tell a story only you can tell.
So! — If you know you need fresh images and content for the year ahead, send me a DM with a simple hello, and we can work out the best way forward together 👋😊
