Friends, I’m excited to invite you to my new exhibit:
▪️Stories & Artifacts ▪️
A collection of new work and selected pieces from my time as artist-in-residence at the Red Lion Inn.
All of the work is connected in some way to the Stockbridge Library, thanks to their incredible archival collection. I spent many hours combing through the history they’ve preserved there.
I too am happy to announce that there will be coffee and donuts. ☕️ 🍩 Come by the reception this Saturday 3/22 from 10am-12pm, or pop by @stockbridgelibrary during regular library hours. The show will be up through the end of March.📚
Final day of the gigantic HOLIDAY show at @labspace_art ✨ Closing party is happening now, ends at 5pm!
LABspace is such a treasure in our community! 💎 My painting, The Secret Staircase, is one of the 375 works on view. Get there and snag a beauty!
It was such an incredible experience to be artist-in-residence @redlioninn this summer! I wanted to share some glimpses and moments from my time there researching and making work. Many thanks to @berkshireartcenter for this opportunity. ♥️
Hope to see you at the exhibition opening tomorrow: Saturday, September 7 (3-5pm) in the Red Lion Inn Sun Room.
Sweet mention from the @berkshireartcenter ❤️
Save the date! Our @redlioninn Artist-In-Residence, Kara Smith, is gearing up for the opening of her exhibition,
“Room 322: A Visual Investigation,” happening next Saturday, September 7th, from 3-5pm!
On view in the Sun Room at the Red Lion Inn, Kara’s exhibition features her newest collection of paintings and mixed media work driven by an interest in memory, visual storytelling and modes of communication. In some of the pieces, the composition was directly influenced by found artifacts and ephemera from the vast history of the Inn. In other cases, the work is influenced by Kara’s personal experience of walking the halls and working in the building soaking up the textures, colors, shapes and sounds of the space.
Her works explore the idea that a place holds more than just its physical form; it holds a deep energy that infuses a place, transcends time and highlights the interconnectedness of past and present within its walls.
We can’t wait to see you at Kara’s exhibition opening next weekend! We also want to give special thanks to the Stockbridge Cultural Council and Lenox Cultural Council, local agencies which are supported by the @masscultural (Mass Cultural Council), a state agency, for supporting our Berkshire Artist Residency Program!
Grateful to have my painting “Code 2” included in the show WHAT WE HOLD: Stories + Objects
@create.council in Catskill.
Finally made it to the show last weekend and it’s such a dynamic and captivating group of work. ✨ Thanks for having me!
