My solo exhibition ‘Gathering Light’ is currently on at Dawyck Studio
@dawyck until 4th May. This new series is the result of my incredible residency with
@bordersforesttrust supported by
@tweedriverculture and
@southernuplandspartnership
The work feels like a significant step in my practice, rooted as it is in one specific landscape and the natural processes happening within it.
Over the course of 6 weeks living off-grid in Southern Scotland I responded in various ways to the evolving habitats and ecologies of land being restored by Borders Forest Trust (who have planted over 2 million trees as part of their extensive habitat restoration work). It is a diverse and experimental body of work, which reflects the diversity of the landscapes being restored by BFT.
I’ve been rather quiet about ‘Gathering Light’ so far, having needed time to let the series percolate. It is not currently online, so for now, if you want to see it please head to
@dawyck whose beautiful gardens are now fully open again after the devastation wrought by various winter storms.
Thank you to all involved, but especially
@catriona_patience @tikimuir @rhiana__laws Emily Cropton and everyone else at Connecting Threads and Borders Forest Trust.
Big thank you to
@jamieemurray for the beautiful frames,
@boomphotobristol for the printing and
@josephjosephglover for his help with the install. The show is produced to the highest standard and I’m very proud of the work.
