today Wimpy sees the world.
this is the first song i’ve ever released - man tbh it’s one of the first real songs i’ve ever written and recorded. back in January last year with @from_yaks_songbook , @joehazy & @benncurry in the rehearsal studio, there was a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book lying on the floor. Yak sang the first line of the first page he turned too off the chords and it took shape quite quickly. i wrote a bass line i’m proper chuffed with as well.
when Yak asked me if i wanted to start a band in December 24, i said yeah but if we’re doing it, let’s go for it. i’ve imagined what it must look like to stand in the middle of a sea of lights and be the sole creator of all the chaos - i wanna be the guy in the middle of it all.
since then us three have been working like dawgs on our repertoire over the past 12 months, building a sonic landscape we know is gonna blow socks off. man i love these boys to bits. i’m so lucky to have found a writing partnership with Yak and Joe so easily. i really believe we’ve got what it takes.
the music video is such a brain child of mine too.
we all agreed we didn’t want to be the main focus for the visual world and i thought the idea of creating a storyline to go underneath us just playing would be more interesting. the absolute legend @lewis.newman understood and executed the vision spot on, along with @narumi.co bringing to life our character that lives inside of @leo__shepherd . that wouldn’t be possible without @libertyhunterhair and her expertise on the day as well.
now it’s free to see the world. Beechwood to space. 🚀 i’m glad to be nervous about sharing art again 🤩. i’ve never felt more creative in my life. this band is our collective minds accumulated in music.

“Bored of the Biscuit” is more than a photo book. It’s a way of perceiving life through a new lens. A live thought experiment, all while being a pretty book for your coffee table.
One of the things I realised in June - August 2022, when these photos were taken, is the importance of words and how they can be perceived differently. Our words are our power and they should be chosen wisely. They are an integral component to our being. We interact with the world through words and those we choose leave a real impact. Positively and/or negatively. The words used in these 8 pieces aim to be perceived in a positive AND negative light, hoping they find meaning to you, the reader, and in a different way to another reader. Create a positive conclusion, create a negative conclusion. They aim to be comforting and freighting.

i drove to Manningtree for a performance i was shooting, something told me to take my Canon AV-1 with me on this journey. i arrived a little earlier than i thought, the tide was out and the lonely boats moored in vein caught my interest.

had the absolute pleasure of joining the boys in their hometown tour these past few months, capturing the shows and their individual stories as each member of @bbytheband .
laughed a lot, ate great scran, met some lovely peeps and produced some work i’m incredibly proud of.
