Its pretty surreal (and, tbh, uncomfortable😂) hearing one of your favourite musicians James Morrison, talking about you on the radio. @bbcradio2 BBC Radio 2 show “Top Brass” today featuring one of my @night_auras brass pieces.

The Brass Shed Dot Com 2026 | | My new desktop website (works on phone, but designed specifically for desktop) for exploring & listening to what I create & produce in my studio. Big nods to the educational multimedia cd-rom PC games I used to play in the mid-1990s (Castle Explorer, anyone?). Everything is clickable! There’s even a game if you click on the back of the chair - play to win a downloadable, brassy prize! Do you know your mutes? Link in the bio. 🎺📯🎙️👾📀🎮💾 Myself - design & concept @ronakchauhan1479 - site development @yonbi_dev - game developer

Earlier this year I got the kids to bed, went to the shed and smashed out some brass hooks. Released yesterday - new Ed Sheeran x Devlin @devlinartist x @teddysphotos track. A pleasure to be involved in something for these legends & @sbtvonline #longlivejamal 🎺🪊

Very glad to see this out in the world. Howie the Hippo, for BBC / SC4. Composer @brollycomposer got me (🎺, plus a few 🪊 phrases) & my talented wife Sarah (clarinet) to record on all the episodes of a new kids cartoon. Including definitely the most tricky thing I’ve ever had to record in episode 14. Had to switch to D trumpet halfway through & drop myself in as it sped off into insanity. Ravel Piano Concerto in G, eat yer heart out!! (niche orchestral trumpet reference there).

All the instruments out for todays thing - a song with one of the most phenomenal song writers I’ve had the pleasure of making music with. Including the first time I’ve got the tenor horn out since I played it at the Brits a few yrs ago. Yes, its been dropped. Brass band chorale vibes with some flutey & whirring synths.

HOME - by @lone_official (feat. @merrylamblamb ) - my brass rework. Really enjoying the new record Hyperphantasia by Matt Cutler aka Lone. Kids were back at school today, I had time left over in the studio… found myself making this brass rework of my favourite track. Video is part of my walk ‘home’. Trumpet. Flugel. French Horn. Trombone. 🎺📯🪊🌌🎧

Back In Love 💘 - new @sukiwaterhouse out today. Horns done in my studio - myself on horn arrangement & engineering duties, and on 🎺 & 🪊, @lumbersax popping round to play tenor 🎷. Thanks @julesapollinaire for the shout. A real pleasure contributing to this absolute tune! 🎉 💙

First TV thing of the year. Recorded trumpet & french horn on Saturdays evenings episode of BBC1’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show. Always a treat working with @paulmylesfarrer & @pete__whitfield adding real instruments to the ‘Unexpected Star’ segment. Its also fun to see what the mimers do along to it - anyone know who they are in this instance? I know we bemoan the lack of live bands on TV, but its great that the BBC provide well paid work to two lots of musicians with the way they do it here. Having been involved in many of the songs from this segment over the years, given the time constraints & the mad timeline of filming & arranging, plus the fact its a random member of the public (and how such a thing has to be planned & enacted) - its also completely unworkable for this segment of the show to simply have musicians there on the day to play live with. The set up, surprise & performances are always a treat to watch & great tv. 🎺📯🎙️📺

New @labrinth album out in the world. Cosmic Opera Act I. A small smattering of real brass recorded on it here, to compliment the samples. Personally, its been exciting to see some of my favourite artists over the past few years really embracing & incorporating cinematic & orchestral influences into their music. My gradual disillusionment for just sitting in orchestras (whilst still loving the music) has seen me working with artists, bands & creating new music for the past decade. Being a small part of bringing elements of the former to the latter has been a genuine pleasure. A bunch of late December, midnight-3am sessions before the walk home through deserted streets. Proper night auras 🌃 Thanks to @cass_lowe for sending Lab my brass laden NIGHT AURAS stuff & getting me on board. Thanks also to Sam Freeman for coming round to help with the trombone low end & for making sense of my scribbles & completely bpm-less, click-less Logic projects. Scroll 👉 for a vague documentation of the process.
