Click here, click there...Ahh reminds me of the song "Click goes the shears boy click, click, click". Referring to the manual cutting of "wool" from a sheeps "back". Yuck I hate clicks and coming from Australia, the sounds of people and their clicking of their shears (the scissors to trim wool from a sheep) is just awful. Manual labor, what a terrible thing! Marie Antoinette on manual labor while munching Pain au Chocolat noted - "It should only be given to the harden hands of the petite bourgeoisie in any case! Their hard skinned finger have thickened through the hard work of many generations of their ancestors causing significant biological and physiological changes occurring even in recent history. What? no I didn't say revolution, I said EVOLUTION you think skinned peasant now put down that spike and....arrrrgghhhhhh!!!!!"... For the musicians: - Sign up/Anmeldung: Sunday/Sonntag only possible 19:30 (be there before that time to unsure you can have spot). Open Mic Starts 20:00 - 00:00 - You can perform 2 original compositions/cover songs/poems, within 10 minutes! - We have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar to borrow. - We have a piano, miniature 72 keys . - Yes we have a PA and cables etc. For non musicians: The Open Mic is Donation based 5-10€ per person. But what is predictable is that the Folklore sessions are back at the @vagabundkesselhaus with a spectacular line-up of madly talented songwriters from Berlin’s burgeoning community of live folk musicians. This month our line-up is: @alexrdew To listen to Alex’s music feels like a cool cousin you forgot that you had wrote a song about a summer you’d forgotten that you had spent together, cycling your bikes around, hucking apples at trees and getting into all sorts of shenanigans. With intricate fingerpicked guitar lines and a voice that moves effortlessly across emotional highs and lows, their music feels like a late-night conversation you didn’t know you needed. He may even come sporting a Tank Top or three! @sameenqasim Sameen has a vocal range that will leave you wondering how a human voice can do that, and with song writing to match somewhere between nostalgia and modernity, let her take you on a journey of soundscapes and genres. Whether it’s a stripped-back moment or a lush, atmospheric track, Sameen’s style is all about feeling — subtle, sincere, and impossible to ignore. @joey_gavin Before I met Joey his music was described to me as “sunshine in the form of sound” I don’t know what the guy meant by that but after listening to his body of work and getting to know him that’s pretty accurate. On the last Pop-Up Session.. With an authentic and warm performance, the guest artist Sameen Qasim – @sameenqasim shared with us her heart and songs from her album 'Goodbye, Good Riddance'. For us, the evening kept on giving, we were gifted not only by the songs and voice of Sameen Qasim, but also she brought to the stage personal reflections on cities, places, and people, it felt like a series of emotional postcards, capturing friendships, instant moments to cherish, and memories suspended in time, all acompanied by an acoustic guitar and Sameen's soothing voice. The song 'Goodbye, Good Riddance' felt like a “we'll see each other soon.” And we really hope to see more of Sameen Qasim in more stages and venues. Her performance invited us not only into her universe, but into a shared space of remembrance, just like when reading pages from a handwritten diary, personal yet carefully crafted, tender and intentional.
