“I was… eating. A lot,” says Culinary Columnist @samahdada , of her all-out food bender in Tokyo earlier this month. There was pizza, ramen, sushi, fancy 7/11 bites, vending machine snacks, and more. For CULTURED, she documented it all, offering her insights on how to make the most of your appetite in the Japanese capital and... a few mistakes to avoid. Get her hour-by-hour rundown at the link in bio.

The secret to navigating a farmer’s market is strategy with a touch of serendipity. At @unsqgreenmarket , culinary columnist @samahdada shows us how to shop with intention: arrive before the crowds, walk the entire market before you commit, let fragrance and texture guide you, and talk to the people who grow your food. Read her full guide to navigating the farmer’s market like a pro at the link in bio.

“If I could spend every morning at a farmer’s market, I would,” @samahdada writes in her latest installment of “Chef’s Orders.” There’s something meditative about the experience: the rainbow of produce, the shoppers envisioning the coming week’s dinners, chefs adding color to their palette. And, of course, there’s the growers, proudly presiding over the fruits (literal and figurative) of their labor. It’s easy for convenience to eclipse our connection to who and where our food actually comes from, but the farmer’s market resets the table. It offers direct access to the people who grow what you eat. Even at its busiest, a farmer’s market serves as a place of community, gathering, and imagination. What will we do with this abundance of fresh ingredients? If you’d like to be that person—confident, informed—visiting the farmers market every week, but don’t know where to start, read Samah’s tips at the link in bio.

The Identity Potluck is a recurring series that aims to understand how creatives of multicultural heritage navigate their identity. The series spotlights their understanding of representation through food. The imagery created features elements native to the creative, and how these elements impact the method in which they have reclaimed their nuanced sense of self. The fourth edition of Identity Potluck focuses on @samahdada , commonly referred to as @dadaeats , an Indian-American TV host, bestselling cookbook author, and celebrated media personality. Named one of Fortune Magazine’s Top Creators and a Forbes 30 Under 30, Samah uses her platform to champion South-Asian representation in the food and television space. She merges food and culture with wellness, health, and mindfulness, appearing frequently as an on-air contributor for the TODAY Show, where she hosts her shows #cooking and HOW TO EAT PLANTS. In her new show, @onthemenu , she sits across from guests like @tomholland2013 , Andrew Garfield, and @florencepugh . In this round, Samah delves into her unique perspective on wellness and health as a way to champion South-Asian representation, her journey in creating a space for herself in the media, and her mission to merge food and culture with mindfulness. The setup centers on a mirrored tabletop with vertical fragments reflecting both the food and Samah’s desire for visibility as a brown woman in a white, male-dominated industry. Draped sarees ground the space in rich textures and bold colors, contrasting the mirrors while affirming an unapologetic South Asian identity. On the table, fruits, vegetables, lentils, and dates showcase the staples behind her recipes that merge tradition with modern wellness(more about the installation in the next post) Link in bio for the whole article Creative direction and table art : @akshitagarud , @two_odd_ Muse and words by : @dadaeats @samahdada Styling by : @jaya_nandaaaa Photography by : @elisethna Production support : @preetk8_ and @suzimifsud
