Sharing the final set with the legendary @martinparrstudio
Last year myself and Alex had the pleasure to share several sets with Martin. He was always delightfully horrified at how much equipment would appear when my team would turn up, and liked to poke fun at it. Whilst motion naturally carryâs a bigger footprint, it was something of an education to watch how one of the greats moved with such simplicity, and no fuss to interrupt.
It seems fitting that this job was one where we kept it super simple, even Martin was surprised all the kit was packed into just 2 cases! Shot on the @theunitbag@old_fast_glass custom Bolex with the Canon 8-64mm.

Sometimes a project is just so clear in your head from the beginning. I knew exactly how I wanted to make this and how I wanted it to look.
Shot the entire thing on a wind-up standard 16mm Bolex! Used my phone as a light meter. 3 tiny C mount Kern Switar lenses. Kept the camera on sticks the entire time. Just myself, no crew. A plan to just document the day to day of the team as they tested the final product in Porto.
The audio is a mix of the factory visit and the guysâ genuine first impressions as they saw the trainers come to life on the production line, alongside voice notes pulled from their whatsapp messages over the past few years.
Weâve all heard it so often, but go out and make the things you want to make! The response Iâve had to this has been so lovely and left a big grin on my face!
