Popping in on the last day of #georgianjanuary to share this very Victorian take on friendships 90 years earlier. I love these satiny, perfect little paintings by Vittorio Reggianini (1858-1938). The topknot hairstyles are more 1890s, but the dresses are pretty accurate. Friendship is a perfect theme to end off this marvelous month. I have been blessed to call many of my pattern customers friends and have grown particularly close to my testers, who chat with me almost daily and have come to share more than just a passion for sewing and historical fashion. I’m thrilled to bits when I get an email from a customer who has been sewing up my patterns from the early days. I’ve seen their children grow up with mine and feel like they are neighbors rather than long-distance acquaintances. Hugs to you all today.
