Keep your dog healthy and safe all year round with these helpful tips: 🐾 Dental health: Check your dog's teeth for plaque or infection. Special dog toothbrushes and paste are available to help keep their teeth and gums healthy. 🐾 Microchipping: Make sure your dog can be identified both on their collar and by microchip (both are now required by law) so that they can be returned to you quickly if they get lost. 🐾 Exercise and mental stimulation: Active dogs are less likely to experience anxiety and behavioural problems. Beyond walks, you can play interactive games with them, such as fetch and hide-and-seek, using treats to keep them engaged. 🐾 Grooming and vet visits: Regular grooming will keep your dog's coat in good condition and keep them comfortable. Regular vet check-ups help to catch problems early, ensure they are fully vaccinated, and verify that their flea and worm treatments are up to date.

Enjoying a BBQ is a stable of the British summertime. But, it could present some hazards to your pets. Be aware of the dangers and learn how to keep your pets safe: ☀️ BBQ staples such as burgers, sausages and chicken legs are not always suitable for pets. Eating lots of fatty meat can cause stomach upsets ☀️ Corn on the cob is particularly dangerous for dogs to eat as they are unable to digest the cob. Which can lead to choking, blockages and perforations. ☀️ Pets should always be kept well away from the BBQ, as the hot flames, fuel and grills can all cause serious burns to curious cats and dogs, and the smoke can irritate their lungs.

Ever seen your dog's twitching in their sleep or letting out little woofs? They're most likely in the middle of a dream Studies indicate dogs process their day through dreams, similar to humans. This means they will be dreaming about their routine and you'll have a starring role in your dog's nightly reverie

Grass seeds are small, pointy seeds that are attached to the tops of long grass stems. Grass seeds have very sharp ends and can pierce their skin or get stuck in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes or nose. If your dog is injured by a grass seed, it can be very painful. 🌾Make sure to check your dog's feet, body and ears for grass seeds after exercise, especially if you have walked through areas with long grass. 🌾If you spot a grass seed in your dog's fur and it has not yet pierced the skin, you can remove it immediately at home to prevent a grass seed injury. 🌾If you spot a seed that has started to burrow into your dog’s skin, or if you think your dog might have a seed in their eye or ear, contact your vet as soon as possible.
