This is Karen Edwards who with makeup Designer Elizabeth Hedley’s amazing vision transformed Imelda Staunton into Karen’s on screen self. We bleached and cut her hair and chose three different lipsticks to suit the mood of the character at the time, Imelda suited her hair being slightly shorter so my greatest challenge was getting it up tidily in a chignon for the court scenes. Imelda was a great sport having never bleached her hair in her whole career thus far, but it really suited her.

A Confession a show I was Makeup Supervisor on 5 years ago is now number 4 on the @netflixuk show chart. Check it out, it has an incredible ensemble cast including @martinfreeman_official@imeldastaunton Siobhan Finneran Joe Absolom and Derek Riddell. It’s a harrowing true story that the family bravely allowed us crew and cast to tell.
I had an amazing designer @elizabethevamua at the helm alongside the dream team @helencurriex and @nirvanajmakeup it was a great job and it’s a great show.
