A couple days ago my dear friend for over a decade now, Miss @sallyjaye released her first single from her new album that will be out a little later on. The song is called “Making Pretty Babies” and it’s one of my most favorites on an album full of favorites. Sally was making timeless albums of integrity long before it became trendy to try and marry art to commerce. She was one of the first friends I made (through @jasonccope and @jdaydrum ) after moving to L.A. from rural Georgia back in ‘06. She’s also a GA Gal! Somehow all these years later she trusted me to be a part of the production of this new project and I couldn’t be more honored and proud. My favorite photo of my mom. I woke up this morning with a heartache. It's been 10 years since she passed away, and it seems like I miss her even more as the years pass. Maybe that's because I wish so much that my kids knew her, or that now that I'm far into motherhood, I understand her more, or it's just really lonely not having your mama around. Hug your mamas today.

In another life, I was a cheerleader for a minute. I was just brave enough and the right size to be on the top of stunts. This was really the most fun thing about it. Stunts and dances. Side note, I also went to trapeze school in my 30s in Hollywood, so I guess I always liked being a flyer. That's me top, middle. I bet I could still do it!

If you've never heard "Junkyard" from Amarillo, just know every single word is true...living by the junkyard, seeing the Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey circus train from my bedroom at night, the train shaking the windows, my mother watering her garden at night...this was a really personal song to write. Fun fact @kylerengland sang the background vocal.
