In 2025 I had the pleasure of participating in Craft Victoria’s Fresh! Fellowship. I was introduced to eight other incredibly driven and talented recent graduates, and a fantastic mentor from @craftvictoria (shout out @annihagberg !) For a whole year we received professional development and mentoring from Craft. We got insight into craft practice and small business management, we visited studios and galleries, and we received talks from industry guests about their practice. The best part of all this, of course, is the people that you meet along the way. A cohort to grow alongside and learn from as we navigate the world as emerging artists and makers. I’m really proud to say that now, a bit over a year later, six of us will be putting on a group show at the Abbotsford Convent for Melbourne Design Week. Our show @cyclic.mdw is about cycles, process and repetition. Exploring the tension between making and unmaking, growth and decay, creation and renewal. There will be pieces in mediums including woodworking, metalsmithing, ceramics, textiles, bio-materials and lighting. Exhibiting artists include: @madelynmckenzie_ @georgie.szymanski @spiraro__ @buijewellery @allstarradiation @sal_lacious If you are in Melbourne during Design Week, I encourage you to come and visit our show. It’ll be running from May 21-24, with an opening event on Thursday the 21st, 5:30-9:00pm I hope to see you there!

cyclic May 21-24 @abbotsfordconvent Introducing @sal_lacious Sal Rosenberg is an emerging maker-designer. They create objects across textiles, jewellery, lighting and sculpture that blur the line between function and expression. Crafting primarily with natural fibres, precious metals and clay, Rosenberg’s work celebrates the beauty of raw materials. Rosenberg’s practice is process-driven, with repetition and sensory experience influencing designs. This has lead to work that intentionally highlights subtle imperfections that show the presence of human hands. With a background in fashion design, Rosenberg’s work showcases a deep consideration of the self, the body and object-person interactions. They are interested in rituals, heritage, growth and decay. Rosenberg’s work was exhibited in 100 Lights (2025) and soft (2024). In 2025 they received professional development and mentoring as a participant in Craft Victoria’s Fresh! Fellowship. - - - First image thanks to @craftvictoria and @claires_arms

I’m honoured to be a part of @cyclic.mdw this Melbourne Design Week! I’ll be showcasing some new work exploring rituals, heritage, growth and decay. Cyclic features six makers bought together through their shared experience of the @craftvictoria Fresh! Fellowship in 2025 @madelynmckenzie_ @georgie.szymanski @spiraro__ @allstarradiation @buijewellery @sal_lacious Working across woodworking, metalsmithing, textiles, bio-materials, lighting, and ceramics, each maker contributes a distinct yet interconnected voice within the evolving language of contemporary craft. Cyclic is a show about cycles. Exploring process, repetition, sustainability, continuity, and the tension between making and unmaking, growth and decay, creation and renewal. #MelbourneDesignWeek #NGV @ngvmelbourne

I’m honoured to be showing work in the @friends.associates exhibition ‘100 Lights’ alongside some extremely talented designers ‘Close Knit no.3’ is the next refinement of @boy_bladez and my collaborative work. We have once again experimented with knit, steel, ceramic and paper, and dreamt up a new form to showcase these textural elements within The ‘100 Lights’ exhibition should definitely be in your MDW calendar! It will be amazing to see the full breadth and skill of Melbourne’s lighting design community, and I encourage those that can to go and see it #MelbourneDesignWeek #NGV @NGVMelbourne

@boy_bladez and I have been prototyping and refining our shared creative voice behind the scenes. We’re so pleased to introduce a new knit lamp ❤️‍🔥 We’re calling this little guy Rook. A table lamp that features a welded steel frame painted bright blue with ceramic “feet”, a paper mache diffuser and a knitted lamp shade. Softly thinking of making these to order - if you’re interested shoot either one of us a DM If you would like to see some more new work in person, we will be exhibiting this year as part of Melbourne Design Week. More details to come soon… Images courtesy of Craft Victoria, photography by Claire Armstrong

The fourth and final look from my 2024 graduate collection “you are at war but you go to work and pay your bills” LOOK 4: DEATH The end. This look explores memories and mourning through reimagining the archetype of the veil. This modern take on a veil features a leather scrap aviator cap with exaggerated knit panels falling just below the eyes and shoulders. The knit takes form in playful shapes with sections broken up by long and undulating ladders. The look is complete with a shift-style dress, featuring an oversized shape, drop shoulders and contrasting knit trims. It was knit with a variety of hand manipulated surface patterns, some quite intricate, providing the final design with a palette of rich textural and colour details. For more details about the overall vision and methodology of this collection, check out my previous post. Photographer @emilia.jesus Model @lamantiss_ HMUA @a.madey_hmua
