Seeing my name pop up three times in the credits — actor, assistant director, and clapper — gave me a lot of feelings. I know I did a lot, even when I told myself I wasn’t enough. I still feel like I don’t deserve it sometimes, but maybe that’s what makes it mean even more.
This was my first time doing all three roles in one big film, one big production. And it wasn’t easy. I’m a soft boy — the type who never fights back when scolded, just nods and quietly excuses himself to the toilet to cry. Sometimes I’d even say “sakit perut nak berak” just to get a longer cry. That became my 3-month routine — cry, breathe, smile, repeat. During that time, I never really shared my problems or emotions; I told myself I had to man up if I wanted to do this kind of work. Yeap, I didn’t even get the chance to gossip (and honestly, I’m not the kind who gossips at work anyway lol). But I’m not the same person now.
Seeing my name there reminded me how passionate I was, and how much I still want to grow. I’m so grateful for every experience, every lesson, and every person who made this journey possible. I truly respect every single person who works in this line — it’s no joke. Would I do it again? Definitely. But next time, I should probably check how much I can take on first lol.
Some journeys break you just to rebuild you stronger — and this was one of them. This will always be a big lesson in my life. I’m so grateful for this journey. #MalamTerlarang
Last night was the premiere screening of Malam Terlarang!
Got to watch it for the first time on the big screen — and wow. Not saying this just because I’m in it, but it was truly a powerful, hauntingly beautiful film. The story, the emotions, the artistry… everything came together so perfectly. I’m beyond grateful to be part of this project — to stand on the same stage and share the screen with such iconic, legendary actors, and to work alongside a team that gave their soul into every frame.
I promise you — you won’t be disappointed.
