Our latest edition “generations removed, bloom” by Brooklyn based Palestinian artist Sabri Sundos is now available! A little bit about Sabri and this edition “
serves as a window into not only the practice of multidisciplinary artist Sabri Sundos but as a bed to some and an introduction to others the Palestinian diaspora. From paintings to studies to Tatreez (embroidery) the voice of the artist remains singular and personal while embodying deep tradition that he has helped to hand down by way of public facing workshops for some time now. Building on the vernacular, Sabri’s work provides an illustrative brightness and joy in self reflection as well as a complex diasporic energy rooted in struggle and a call for liberation. We are so immensely proud to produce this catalogue showcasing the work of such a thoughtful human.” edition of 100 comes with a newsprint poster and sticker

Hand to Hand is a new cassette tape edition by Aventures LTD in collaboration with UNIBROW SUN and Glue Factory Radio, assembled by Sabri Sami Sundos, Michelle Nazzal, & Andrew Miller. The project draws inspiration from histories of bootleg mixtapes exchanged by family and through travel across the Arab diaspora. It pays homage to the preciousness of music as a souvenir, especially for people displaced or in exile. “...whenever someone returned from abroad, they carried suitcases filled with pieces of home. Cassette tapes and CDs were a big part of that home. They were quickly dubbed, recopied, and passed along, hand to hand, through a community hungry for connection. I remember my parents’ friends arriving with stacks of freshly recorded tapes, ready to share. From those, my parents would build their own collections—mixtapes of favorites that would continue to circulate among family and friends. These exchanges shaped my earliest sense of home: not just a place, but a feeling carried through sound, scent, and memory.” - Sabri You can find this limited edition mixtape available at the Aventures LTD @aventuresltd table A22 and on display in the Reading Room at the LAABF @printedmatter_artbookfairs . We also welcome you to join us this Sunday, May 10th from 6-9p at Zizou @zizou_losangeles for a special collaborative event with our friends at Dub Lab @dublab and Secret Riso Club @secret_riso_club , celebrating the Hand to Hand tape launch and GUNK Zine release. For those unable to attend our LA launch events, details on in-person pickups in NYC, Oakland and domestic shipping will be announced soon. All proceeds from Hand to Hand will be donated to @thesameerproject a grassroots organization providing crucial aid to people on the ground in Gaza.

We invited Palestinian-American artist @sabri to embroider a type lock-up and pattern we made for “The Private Life of Ragdolls”. Sabri Sundos works with textiles and Tatreez, which is considered a social language and living archive. The result ended up being hybrid in its nature since he added floral motifs preset in his own work to the label we designed. It was based book and exhibition project on Venezuelan writer and humorist Aquiles Nazoa (1920-1976). đŸ‡»đŸ‡Ș The font we used was custom-made by @bghryct based on stitching patterns from the first edition in 1976 and the techniques used in the dolls that are part of the publication. The endpapers were designed by @samorius and came from the book we published in 2019. Box fabrication by @phosphorescentfacehighlighter Sabri Sami Sundos work is rooted in his personal experience of being raised in the diaspora. He explores themes of identity, labor, and time. Through the merging of traditional craft and cultural iconography, his work emphasizes the importance of agency & human touch, highlighting the inherent tactile nature of art-making as a means of reclaiming and preserving heritage.  More soon about our book collaborations with Sabri.
