80 years old… and still carrying light so beautifully. Photographing her felt like more than just taking portraits. It felt like sitting in the presence of grace, strength, wisdom, and a life truly lived. The way she smiled, moved, laughed, and carried herself with so much radiance and elegance… you would never guess her age. There was such a youthful energy about her, but even deeper than that, there was peace. Moments like this remind me that aging is not something to fear. It is a privilege. A gift. An honor. And honestly, by the end of the shoot, I had to ask her to pray for me. The day I found out that @iambisola and I share the same birthday… my head was blown. I’ve loved her from afar for a long time. I’ve admired her, her excellence, her humility, her dedication. But discovering that we share the same birthday made that admiration feel deeper. It made it more personal. It made me think that if someone who shares the same birthday with me can be this successful, this grounded, this devoted, and this excellent at what she does, then maybe I too can walk that path. And when I got a little closer, it wasn’t a case of don’t meet your heroes. It was the opposite. She was exactly who I hoped she would be, lovely, lively, jovial, full of life. On this day of my birth, I arise and I shine, for my light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon me. My light breaks forth like the morning. My righteousness goes before me, and the glory of the Lord is my rear guard. Darkness may cover the earth, and deep darkness the people, but upon me the Lord arises, and His glory is clearly seen. I am clothed with light as with a garment. I walk in divine visibility and holy distinction. I do not struggle to be seen I shine because God has placed His hand upon me. Kings come to my light, and leaders are drawn to the brightness of my rising. Doors open at the sound of my name. Favor speaks for me in rooms I have not yet entered. My life announces the excellence of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. I declare: I am the light of the world. A city set upon a hill, I cannot be hidden. I refuse smallness. I reject obscurity. I am not placed under a bushel; I am set on a lampstand to give light. The Lord is my shield and my exceeding great reward. He is my glory and the lifter of my head. He lifts my gaze above limitations, above history, above fear. My horn is exalted with strength and honor. I am anointed with fresh oil. not yesterday’s grace, but today’s measure for today’s calling. My cup runs over with wisdom, favor, peace, and divine supply. Surely goodness and mercy pursue me relentlessly all the days of my life. I do not chase blessings, blessings overtake me. The beauty of the Lord my God rests upon me. He establishes the work of my hands. Clarity replaces confusion. Boldness replaces hesitation. My countenance is transformed from glory to glory, from brightness to brilliance. As I enter this new year of life, I shine brighter, see clearer, walk bolder, and stand firmer. God’s hand is evident upon me. His presence goes before me. His favor surrounds me like a shield. I am aligned with heaven. I am authorized by God. I am sustained by light. And my life will testify: The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
