I’ve always been fascinated by the sound Jimi Hendrix had live at Fillmore East — not trying to play like him, but trying to understand and get closer to that feel and texture.

Each one adds its own character, and together they help me explore that kind of tone — organic, dynamic, and very expressive.

Here's some Hendrix Woodstock goodness with the epic @sabbadius Funky Vibe - Woodstock edition!
I'm blown away by this pedal! It absolutely nails that old-school Hendrix uni-vibe sound! The quality of this thing is amazing and is built like a tank. It looks killer too!
For this I was running my @fender McCready strat into the Funky-Vibe into a Hendrix fuzz face into a Marshall origin 20. Using just the volume knob on the guitar to clean up a bit for the intro and then rolling up the volume for the lead.
Another cool feature of this pedal is you can switch off the lamp/swirl effect so that you can use the unit as a kind of preamp .

Also to get these kinda of tones you have to have a white coily cable 😁 @bulletcable

The Tiny-Vibe is manufactured with the same components as its big brother, the Funky-Vibe, but in a smaller enclosure. It has the same PCB layout, same components and functionalities except the FOOT CONTROL jack was eliminated to save space. But, it has a SPEED knob at the RIGHT that allows you to adjust the SPEED with your foot. (Now you can change the side of the SPEED knob to the LEFT if you preffer to adjust the SPEED with your other foot or to make some place in one side of your pedalboard).
🎛SABBADIUS 68 Tiny-Vibe: Based on the original 1968 Honey UNICORD Uni-Vibe, this version is the most popular and widely associated with Jimi Hendrix. It offers a higher maximum speed than later models, delivering a deeper, more responsive modulation effects Mode.
🎛SABBADIUS 69 Tiny-Vibe: Modeled after the 1969 Shin-ei Companion version, which took over proction after Honey UNICORD went bankrupt. While retaining the Uni-Vibe's essence, it includes internal component anges that give it a slightly different tonal character, reminiscent of tones used by David Gilmour, Robin Trow, and late-period.
🎛SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Tiny-Vibe: According to some Uni-Vibe experts, this Uni-Vibe version is possibly the one Jimi Hendrix used in 1969 and 1970, whereas others said that Jimi used a 1968 Uni-Vibe in the United States and a 1969 version in Europe. The thing is that if you pay attention to the sound from the same song played in the U.S.A and compare it to the one played in Europe, including England, you will notice that the Throb of the Vibe and the effect’s "wave sound" do not evoke the same "Chewy" sound we might find in Jimi’s performances. Now I found that th SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe version captures that “CHEWY” SOUND similar to the 69 & 70's UniVibe era.

From his Vintage White Fender Stratocaster, the signal went into a VOX Wah-Wah, then into a fuzz unit that many believe to be a Fuzz Face due to its round enclosure but this one with white knobs. However, its internal circuit was actually a custom fuzz designed by Roger Mayer. Some experts claim it was an OCTAVIA—but without the transformer, which is what makes this fuzz so unique.
The Sabbadius JIMI version recreates that very same circuit used at WOODSTOCK.
From the fuzz, the signal went into the Uni-Vibe—in this case, the Sabbadius WOODSTOCK Funky-Vibe ST—and from there into a wall of Marshall amplifiers running in parallel.
Why parallel? Because the output from the Uni-Vibe was connected to a “stereo” splitter, allowing the signal to feed two different amplifier heads simultaneously.
Many people have asked me about Jimi’s Uni-Vibe settings at WOODSTOCK.
He used it like this:
VOLUME: Max
INTENSITY: 6
SPEED: between 4 and 6
I tested this exact setting on my Sabbadius WOODSTOCK Funky-Vibe, and it truly nails that sound.
Try this configuration with any Funky-Vibe or Tiny-Vibe you have—you’ll hear it immediately.
TIP:
If you’re using a Marshall-style amp, follow the pedal order described above.
If you’re using a Fender-style amp, the order should be:
Guitar → Wah Wah → Funky-Vibe → Fuzz → Amp
