We’re super excited for these upcoming shows spread over the latter part of next week in Ōhinehou (Lyttelton), taking place as part of the amazing @port.noise festival programme amidst an absolutely top notch lineup of local and international artists - LINK TO TICKETS IN BIO Firstly on Thursday the 19th of February, a few of our whānau (including members of the @waiwhai.ai band, @mauri.aura and Sina Leo) arrive to assemble an intimate art week show at Lyttelton Arts Factory - Taha Tau: Ōhinehou, an event blending experimental ambient beats/music, ngā taonga puoro (traditional Māori instruments), and slow-building improvisations alongside some very special guests from Ōtautahi. Expect sounds both contemplative and light supported by a misted atmosphere + visual accompaniment from Sina Leo (@space.vox ). Then on festival day Saturday 21st of February, WAIWHAI. will be bringing an eclectic set rooted in underground psychedelic noise/punk/taonga puoro and auto-tune music, nodding to bands and musicians connected to his musical whakapapa and the vast musical whakapapa of WAIWHAI. band members, weaving a unique sonic tapestry that is both wildly familiar and surprising. Joined by @ryantomov (Fruju Peak, Jackaltheblackal) on bass guitar, @finn.mcneill (Fruju Peak, Jackaltheblackal, Psychogab, Vida) on drums, and Anita Clark (@motte_ettom , Whipping Star, Don McGlashan) on Violin/FX, this is an iteration of the WAIWHAI. haerenga that we’re honoured to be bringing down to Te Wai Pounamu. See you in Ōhinehou whānau 🌀

Live AF & Live AF dubs is now out on the internet for your listening pleasure. These albums are very special to us, recorded Live at Audio Foundation in August last year, Live AF dub version dubbed later by @___f3rn___ The tunes were based off musical ideas and graphic scores 1. Molecule is an AABA composition 2. Yuri SD is based on fragmentation, a reggae inspired tune sitting at 86bpm - introducing an ostinato at 3 min mark. 3. Sad is a rubato composition of @ryantomov 4. Eddy is an improvised piece with the premise of imitating a swelling of water, demonstrated to the band from @finn.mcneill ‘s graphic score adaptations. As a band we’ve decided not to release the albums to Spotify due to their non ethical practices and their mistreatment of artists and their art. If you would like to support us, the album is available on bandcamp for $4 or come watch us live. Cover art by @finn.mcneill @orlando.cooper Mix and Master @orlando.cooper @bilbosclubhouse Chur

Live @ Āto Saturday 19th July - The World Tandem Ensemble A debut convergence of minds scattered across the North Island — half Wellington, half Auckland. A set of music where ideas sprouted in either city, now blooming together in one musical garden. Iggy Nama Ruci brings a powerful voice on alto, bari, and flute — fresh from tours in India and South Africa, returning with a renewed approach to improvisation. Isaac Randel, a force on tenor sax, draws from post-Coltrane jazz and beyond, fusing folk, experimental, and straight ahead influences in bold original compositions. Miro Holland is back from Amsterdam with a dynamic, emotionally rich sound shaped by the likes of Don Cherry and Hannibal Lokumbe — guiding the rhythm section with clarity and control. Jack Harris, rooted in swing but never afraid to explore. A trusted name in Wellington’s jazz scene, from trad to modern — always letting others flourish. Finn McNeil, a textural and explosive drummer, known for his work with Roger Manins and Jeff Henderson, drives the band with intention and energy. Ryan Tomov doubles on piano and bass, switching from grounded grooves to rich harmonic color — always innovating, always evolving. Complimentary soup between sets Tickets on UTR with Student Discount available Doors at 7:30PM | Music from 8PM Bring your refreshments, bring your friends, and bring your ears for a great night!
