As we kick off another season of bike racing here in Colorado, the RacerShots crew would like to remind everyone to respect the hard work of our photographers and don't screenshot the race images from our websites. This is a violation of the photographer's copyright and is considered theft.
When browsing images on our individual websites, all photos have a watermark, like the ones in the attached image. This watermark does NOT appear when photos are purchased and downloaded. When a photo with a watermark appears on social media, it is obvious that someone took a screenshot to share that image. Why share low-res, compressed photos with a big ugly watermark in the middle, when you can spend a few bucks and get a great quality image while at the same time supporting the photographers who show up every weekend to make you look fast!
Also note that when you purchase a photo from one of our photographers, you are usually purchasing a "personal use" license. This grants you the right to share and print the image for your use. You are not purchasing the right to pass that photo on to a company, sponsor or publication for their use. If someone is interested in a commercial or editorial use for a photo, please purchase a "commercial use" license, or better yet, contact the photographer to discuss your intended use.

I came back from work, and was about to sit down in front of my computer for photo work, when I heard the sirens, helicopters, and evacuation notices on my phone. I grabbed my camera and went a few blocks from my house to this-- which is still burning right now.
This will be talked about for years in my neighborhood. I am fortunate to be just outside of the evacuation bubble.
