The Hollyhock House, photographed for the newest issue of @themanualreview
In November 2016, The Hollyhock House introduced a digitally scanned plaster reproduction of a Roman relief depicting three dancing nymphs. The original marble sculpture had been acquired by Aline Barnsdall in 1922 and installed in her Frank Lloyd Wright–designed residence, where it stood out as a key piece within her otherwise modest collection. The marble was later sold and is now part of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s holdings, though it is currently on view at the Getty Center.
