Big game day always takes me back to this moment, one of the best days of my life.
An open-air room in St. Lucia and the 2022 AFC Championship smuggled onto a tiny screen. Some sports memories are not completely about the game at hand, but all the history leading up to the moment. Years of disappointment, suddenly worth it.
It was the day Leah officially became a Bengals fan. We always said we would go back to St. Lucia on the 5-year anniversary. Let’s hope Cincinnati matches that :)

The fact that I got to take my boys on this trip was nothing short of a miracle. From a botched flight that nearly ruined our last trip, provided a free flight for the three of us out west. God turned a disappointment into something better than I could ever think to ask for or imagine. This was the most amazing time and something we will remember forever.
And it even happened again on this trip! Something went wrong. The reservations I scheduled for months in advance, were not in fact reserved some how, at least our first night. So... I had to think. I'm in the middle of the desert with my boys, and we had to stay somewhere. We decided to drive to the Grand Canyon. It was only 4 hours away and we had 24 hours before our campsite at Zion would take us. Another disappointment at first glance was simply an opportunity for another adventure. Whatever disappointments you're facing, God can turn into a blessing!
