Race Report
Kenting has always been on the must visit list so when given the chance to join
@utmbworldseries latest race, I was very keen to get on a plane for the short hop to Taiwan 🇹🇼.
I had a solid 6 week training block for this folllowing
@hk100ultra and legs felt good. There was a good mix of Asian elites on the start line for this and knew I had to race well for any chance for a podium place. After cooler weather for a few days prior, forecasts said it was going to heat up for the race, probably not playing to my advantage.
It was a n interesting course with some runnable coastal paths, along with rocky river beds, which turned into a bit of a heat basin in the afternoon, not going to lie they absolutely cooked me 🍳🥵!
@tkw910 took an early lead and kept the distance, and the plan of hunting down
@hirokazu_nishimura26 came along nicely, however by that time
@jay_jantaraboon overtook me on an uphill like he was on a leisurely Sunday morning jog in ChiangMai. Chasing him down in the heat, it was great to connect back up with the 50km runners for the last 20km and help motivate each other to the finish line, finishing in 3rd and securing a place at
@utmbmontblanc CCC in 2027.
Happy with the podium place and onwards and upward to the last A-race of the season in 6 weeks
@mt.fuji100 🇯🇵 🏃♂️ 🗻 . Before then, very much looking forward to connecting with my
