I cannot believe 1 year went by this quickly. 2025 was a year of saying yes—to projects, to people, to late nights, long shoots, creative risks, and moments of doubt that turned into growth. I met friends who started as collaborators and became family, and I’m endlessly grateful for every person who shared a set, a conversation, or a vision with me this year. I was lucky enough to be part of so many film projects—each one teaching me something new about storytelling, collaboration, patience, and myself. Some days were exhausting, some were inspirational, and all of them reminded me why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place. I couldn’t tag everyone but thank you to everyone who trusted me with their stories, showed up with passion, and believed in making something meaningful together. No matter what happens next, no matter how uncertain the path gets, I know one thing for sure: I’ll keep making films. Always.
April of this year I chose to spend my birthday participating in the @hifilmmakers 48 hour challenge with some friends. It was a small team and a big ask. We wrapped at 4am and still needed to come back for pick-ups. It was a mad dash to the finish line we did it and we took overall first!
I definitely did not expect our film to win 1st overall and thanks to my amazing team I was able to attend @hiffhawaii industry conference. An amazing weekend that’ll post about separately but I had to showcase some screenshots and BTS from the film that gave that opportunity. Mahalo to everyone!

Sunday night rushed by so quick! I got to meet so many talented artist and our film being selected for the top prize I think was something none of us were expecting. But it was just reminder I needed as to why I moved to Oahu and why I do this! Our film “A New Song,” premiered at the @hifilmmakers 72 Hour Film Challenge, and our little film with a big crew took home;

I am in awe of our team for rallying behind the idea supporting me.
When we started the shoot I said to the crew, “We are here today because I wanted to see my friends and make a film. It’s not about winning or one upping ourselves I just want to spend time making art with you all.” (It wasn’t these exact words but this is close and less rambly.) Having the honor to receive these 5 awards from @hifilmmakers is amazing! Mahalo Nui Loa!
