Travelling more than 8,000 miles from their Waikīkī home, Kelis Kaleopaʻa Kaniela Stewart traded the sunny skies of Honolulu for the desert sands of Abu Dhabi. A dream stop on the World Longboard Tour, is held on a man-made wave shrouded in the buzz of one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
Although Kelis and Kani didn’t leave with a win, they stayed in the mix. And in between heats, they leaned into it as this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Sand, sun, and time with friends and family, a long way from home, but right where they belong.
