I loved @claremackwrites post about her old author pics so much, I thought I'd do the same thing! Here are some of my promo photos over the years, starting in 2011 (back before I was even published, my husband took this one) then Nick Tucker in 2015, Ollie Grove in 2017, Gemma Day (2019, 2021) and finally Paul Reich in 2024. Probably time for a new one, do you think?!

Back at my desk after the Easter break and I've spent all day sorting out my diary for 2026 and booking FLIGHTS. Next stop, @imaginegreeceretreats with my writer-friend @markedwardsauthor in beautiful Tolo. Seriously, how can you look at that blue sea and not feel inspired! What are your plans for the summer? Maybe a little trip to Greece with me and Mark?!

I generally hate mid-event photos because the pictures always seem to catch me halfway through a highly animated story in which my face looks like I'm trying to win a gurning competition. But anyway, these were taken by the incredibly talented film-maker (and writer!) @jackjewers which is probably why I like them - that and the fact that I'm on stage with some of my favourite people, and @avaglassbooks and @ellygriffiths17 look like we're having such fun. We were at @waterstonesbsk being chaired by the brilliant @helenfields_author (final picture - the stage was quite wide so hard to fit us all in!) and it was a truly lovely evening all round - apart from getting home at midnight because I forgot to charge my car before I left.

Have you listened to this episode with @ruthwarewriter yet? I loved chatting to Ruth about her latest novel, The Woman in Suite 11. We talked about why the time felt right for Ruth to revisit Lo and how it was to step back into her shoes. We also talked about the brilliant Netflix adaptation of The Woman in Cabin 10, and of course the five books she chose as the ones that have shaped her life (swipe through to see her picks 📚). If you haven’t listened yet, just search “Best Book Forward” wherever you get your podcasts, or find the link in my stories. And please do let me know what you think once you’ve listened, I always love hearing your thoughts. I’m gutted to not be sharing a brand new episode tomorrow as this was the last in this season. Don’t worry though more are on the way and I’ve got some amazing guests lined up. Watch this space 🎧

I've added a new entry to my website to reflect the amount of scam emails flying around. TLDR, I do not cold-email authors recommending editors or marketers. Any compliments are likely to be public posts. Stay safe out there, folks!

Ever worried you might accidentally have killed someone in your sleep? You’ve come to the right place! Join Jen as she talks paranoia, murder and spooky moods with the Sunday Times and New York Times crime fiction bestseller Ruth Ware, whose ‘Woman In Cabin 10’ you may simultaneously be enjoying right now on Netflix. Perhaps even as you’re leafing through her brand new sequel, ‘The Woman In Suite 11.’ But if - like all the best psychopaths - you’ve chosen to just do one thing, why not make it WAM...

‘La mujer de la habitación 11’ de Ruth Ware es una lectura perfecta para las noches largas de invierno. Un thriller elegante, atmosférico y envolvente, que se disfruta mejor despacio, saboreando cada pista y cada sospecha. Ideal para quienes aman el misterio con escenarios fríos y un ritmo hipnótico. ❄️📘 #ruthware #libros #librosrecomendados #librosymaslibros #bookstagramespaña
