If you had asked me 10 years ago would I be standing at an @paramountplus premier in Leicester Square, with no legs, dressed as a human corsage, balling my eyes out to a show about fishing, I would have said probably not no.
In 2026, the year of the horse, I vouch to solemnly try my best and do everything in my power, to smile even less.

I took my first steps as a double amputee a month ago. I cannot begin to thank everyone at the NRH enough for helping me recover, adapt to my new normal and return to so many hobbies I thought I would never be able to do again. The people I have met there have had such an impact on me.
I work in an industry that isn't necessarily the most accessible or understanding of disabled people. When I entered the NRH I was overworked and honestly, overwhelmed. I was starting to believe that there wasnt a place for someone like me in the film industry. The kindness and patience I have experienced from every single member of staff there has made me realise that when I advocate for myself on set, as exhausting as it is sometimes, I'm not only standing up for my needs but hopefully can make it a little easier for the next disabled person that deserves a shot at a doing something they love. Accessibility is not a luxury it's a human right and the bare minimum.
Cheers to visibility, cheers to patience and cheers to allowing disability to just exist in media.
From the bottom of my stoney little heart, thank you to all the staff at the NRH for making me realise that I deserve more than just surviving and "making do" and so does every other disabled person.
In the words of my gal Cynthia "I have been changed for good"
Ruth Codd opens up about the reality behind her second amputation — the pain, the humour, the resilience, and the choice to take back control of her life. A real moment of honesty from this week’s Under Your Skin with Grace Neutral.
