Now I get to help YOU stop sounding like a washing machine full of silverware and start sounding like… well, a badass. Whether you’re brand new (“which one’s the hi-hat again?”), stuck in intermediate hell, or already pro but want to steal my stupidly fast double-stroke roll (it’s fine, I’ll teach you), I got you.

The mission of Classic Steel, I suppose, is to elevate the floor for aspiring professionals, identify and eliminate logistical challenges that deprive artists of opportunity, and handle the grit and grind that has nothing to do with creating music, but everything to do with projecting & sustaining it. The aim is to create a business model that ensures the future of our beloved music is protected from censors, cowards, philanderers, thieves, thugs, lawyers, and politicians. This moment before us reveals the magical connectivity that only live music can cultivate, a literal passing of the baton from one blastin rockstar to his son, who’s musical future we can only hope will be built on a foundation of trust, hard work, and omnipotent support. This is how I prep my body and mind before war.
Sweat session in my @sweattents Sauna at 175-210F degree heat. (79.4-98.9C)
Eucalyptus steam opening the lungs.
Concentration on nasal breathing only.
Gua sha from the ground up, scraping everything toward the center of my chest to move lymph, clear stagnation, and keep the engine clean.
Jaw strength trainer locked in like a pitbull. 🦷💪🏻
Then I run the entire Skeletal Remains set on the practice pad inside the sauna.
Precision under pressure. Endurance under fire. 🥁🔥
I train circulation, breath, nervous system, heart rate control, and focus so when I hit the stage, everything fires as one.

Playing with Skeletal Remains last February on the Obscura/Gorod European run had me thinking…It’s wild how music only exists in the moment… and the moment is undefinable. When you’re inside it pushing those extreme tempos you drop into a gamma brainwave state where every tiny shift in feel or velocity feels massive. Hyper-awareness can turn you into your own biggest critic yet this is the state of open awareness and problem solving.
Then when you watch the footage back most of the “mistakes” you swore were there don’t even show up. That’s the hyper-aware mind reacting to the intensity of the moment, not the reality of the performance.
The real goal is learning to let those micro-moments pass in a state of unbound joy and absurdity. That’s where the power is.
