Rush University is excited to announce that Ted W. Love, MD, former CEO of Global Blood Therapeutics, will serve as this year’s honorary speaker for its 54th Commencement Ceremony on May 2.
Love has a long and distinguished career in the biopharmaceutical industry. He led Global Blood Therapeutics from a pre-clinical startup into a multinational commercial business, and introduced a first-of-its-kind treatment for sickle cell disease.

🌟 Rush University continues to shine in the 2026 @usnews Best Graduate School Rankings. @RushUNursing ranks No. 3 nationally in the Doctor of Nursing Practice category, with six DNP specialties in the top four. Four @RushUHealthSci programs also earned top marks, including two in the top 10, and @RushUMedicalCollege was recognized among the nation’s best in research.

At the same location they donned their white coats for the first time, they reached a new milestone and opened envelopes that held the answer to the next chapter of their story.
