Run Gatwick Half Marathon ✈️
It was so good to bring this event back this year. Starting in Crawley town centre and with it being next to Gatwick airport, it means it's good for parking / trains from London etc. What a course too - mix of country roads, town centre start and finish & views of airplanes flying over you on the way round - quick one too 🚀
Feeling a bit fitter after a few months of inconsistency - 1.30 for the distance and picking up speed each mile toward the finish 🙏
Great job by the @runthroughuk / @runseries_ team & thanks to @easyjet - same again next year!

Running at @aintreeracecourse which is on the doorstep to one of our super busy hospitals made it even more special.

Made it to 4.5km before walking this time (& at a better pace than last week - although, I think I wasn’t wise with my pace this morning).

First run back after the @londonmarathon and it felt absolutely solid. Great pace, strong legs and most importantly, it just felt good to be back out on the roads running again.
After the marathon, I knew the body needed time to rest, recover and reset. It’s always tempting to jump straight back into training, but recovery is just as important as the hard work itself. Taking that step back has made today’s run feel even better.
A reminder that progress isn’t only made in the hard sessions, sometimes it comes from listening to your body, recovering properly and trusting the process. Ready to build again and come back even stronger.

Marathons, marathons… who said you have to run them the whole way?
You can run it.
You can jog it.
You can walk it.
And honestly? If you really want to feel a marathon not just finish it, slow down.
I’ve done 10 marathons and this last one I went in with a completely different mindset:
● No pressure on time
● No chasing a PB
● Just enjoy it
And it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
When I walked, I:
● Chatted with spectators
● Thanked volunteers
● Connected with other runners
● Actually soaked in the atmosphere
The energy? ELECTRIC. You can’t experience that when you’re locked into pace and staring at your watch.
Don’t get me wrong, if you’re chasing a time, go for it, But if you’re not… Try running a marathon for the vibe.
Trust me, you’ll remember it way more than any finish time.
