We unlocked a level.
We noticed we were one of a handful of teams comprised of Women of Color. We wanted to take up space and widen the lane for women like us. It was our honor to participate and represent our sisters in the run. While we have finished the race, the race is not over. We look forward to expanding the presence of Women of Color at the start line.
Team Thique is grateful to have shared the experience with other WOC teams, @bodega.baddies & @ldnsolesisters , and solo womxn, @adarklovestory@almond_mnms Collectively, we are crafting our own definition of what it means to be a runner, a definition forged in our likeness and rooted in our skin color.
Cheers to doing hard things, cheers to taking up space, cheers to showing up for yourselves.
Cheers to black and brown women and the men who support us!
