I am so proud of Fiyori for being selected to represent her school at the annual county scholar athlete banquet. This year she was selected as the female student-athlete to represent all sports for her high school, an honor she also earned at the middle school level. As a former student-athlete at the high school and collegiate level, I love how Fiyori has handled herself to both compete on the field and to accomplish so much beyond the finish line. She has displayed an incredible work ethic, dedication and perseverance to do great things in soccer, cross country, track and field, flag football, and the classroom. I could not be prouder of how you have represented yourself, your family, and your school. All those lessons you have learned in athletics will apply to your academics at UF and to be a leader beyond college to be a positive contributor to society. Thank you Yordanos for all your hard work in mentoring and fulfilling the needs of Fiyori, Sara, and Yohana to make their goals achievable. Fiyori - we wish you all the best as you become an adult and into your college journey.

The 4th Annual Run With MEB was a success! I am honored to be able to continue this event each year, and on Saturday at Al Lopez Park, we welcomed nearly 500 runners to our 5k, 10k, and one mile fun run. It is great holding such an event, seeing a number of runners each time, including a lot of four-timers who have participated every year. The great running groups of our area were well represented on the starting line, with all ages, genders, and ethnicities welcomed. As Nelson Mandela said, “Sport has the power to united people in a way little else does.” We had Black Men Run, Black Girls Run, Run Tampa, Iron Sharpeners, over 50 youth runners from the Hillsborough Harriers, and the support of the Gasparilla Distance Classic. I’m always thrilled to see kids growing fast and remaining active. The little girl whose mother wears an MR8 hat was in a stroller last year. This year she ran the 5K. Amazing. The beauty and the progress of running. As New Balance says “Run Your Way” This year’s race shirt was red with white lettering. For those who know my story, I loved seeing these colors, as it reminded me so much of the t-shirt I earned in 7th grade that started my running career. This event would not be possible without our wonderful volunteers. They make everything run smoothly and bring an energy that is felt through the whole park. We also have a dedicated group of sponsors and supporters. They come through in a big way to ensure we are able to host this event, and I am thankful for each of their support, and to those who provide support and donations even when they are unable to attend. I would like to give a special thank you to Coach Dungy and his wife Lauren for making the time to come out in support. Coach Dungy had another event with All Pro Dads, but he stopped by wearing his Run With MEB t-shirt. It is an honor to see these shirts in the days and months to follow, on the backs of runners on Bay Shore, and even at the Carlsbad 5000! Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and made the Run With MEB a fantastic event for our local Tampa community! The dedication and commitment is a testament to our area and to you - the runners!

It is always one of my favorite weeks of the year: the Boston Marathon. I am fortunate to have so many opportunities to engage with the community and the race for nearly a full week around the big race on Monday, and this year was no different. First, congratulations to John and Sharon for defending their titles, and to everyone who came through with spectacular performances. The right athletes, right temperatures, right weather - the day was right in so many ways. We saw many heroic efforts on the day, and my hat is off to each athlete who had a special day on the marathon course. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to see the race from the broadcast booth, and share the space with John, Carrie, and Amanda, an all-star broadcast team! It was a pleasure to reconnect with astronaut Suni Williams. I love the passion she has and how much she loves running. It is great to see her run Boston, and I am thankful that Jack Fleming for allowing me to give Suni her medal. Congratulations also goes to Chelsea Clinton for running a PR and for giving us runners a surprise with her mom and dad at the finish line. I personally met president Bill Clinton on three other occasions. It was nice seeing him again, and this was my first time meeting Secretary Hillary Clinton. I have finally met the whole family! This is also a big weekend for the MEB Foundation. We had a full roster running for our charity team, and I am proud of each runner for putting in the effort to cross the finish line, and am thankful to their support and generosity to the Foundation. Through our charity teams, we are able to fulfill our mission of supporting youth health, education, and fitness. In addition to our charity team on the marathon course, we had 26 area students run for the MEB Foundation in the New Balance Indoor Marathon Relay. The students put a good effort to compete at The Track at New Balance. Seeing the festivities and music and relay teams was an awesome atmosphere. Thanks to @chrisheuisler for organizing this event for the MEB Foundation. Thank you again Boston for having me back to celebrate this great event in our sport.

The “Run to Remember” at the OKC Memorial Marathon is special race. It’s a race you must do once in your life, whether you want to do the full marathon or the half marathon! It’s a race where it takes you back to what happened on April 19, 1995, which was a tragic day. However, it’s also a race that makes you appreciate the present. As Oklahoma likes to call it “A day of darkness, years of light”. The city decided to face the challenge and make a memory of a lifetime without forgetting the past. The Memorial Museum is a place to visit. It makes you sad, yet wants you to preserve and celebrate life now, because tomorrow, next week or next year is not guaranteed to anyone! I feel very fortunate to come to the Oklahoma City Marathon this year for the 2nd time. It’s people, their hospitality and the community is very welcoming with their “Oklahoma standards”. It’s particularly special for me to be here with some of the best ambassadors in the sport, where we encourage and applaud each other. This year was particularly even more special for me because as an ambassador I worked with the OKC to discuss athletes to join in this great event, and I am so proud for how they all performed, both in their panels and on the course. Grateful to be part of the sport that has given me so much over the decades. The courtside basketball game was amazing and a great bonus. Kari Watkins and her team did an amazing job. All 30k runners had great experiences from the time they started to the finish in all events. I was grateful to have a small part as I cheered the runners in the 10th mile for the half marathoner and the 23rd mile for the full marathoners. It was known as “Meb’s Mile”. It was absolutely incredible and people were appreciative of me being there during the challenging time where the mind and body are struggling. I hope my high five and appearance pushed you to the finish line. Congratulations on honoring us at the most meaningful “Run to Remember” events and sentiments. It was always great to reflect in the 168 seconds moment of silence. That’s deep and powerful!

Thank you to Kari Watkins and the OKC Memorial Marathon and Museum team for allowing me to attend and have a wonderful playoff experience last night, getting to watch the action from the floor. Congratulations to the Thunder on an important win to go up in the series 2-0. It was amazing to see the expressions and agility of these great athletes from that close. What a treat! I am always grateful for these opportunities. Wishing you the best as you take the series to Phoenix. Go Thunder! I also got to reconnect with coach Chip Engelland from his days with the Spurs. All around a great night!

All runners love to run, put in the miles, and finish what we start. However, no matter where we finish, the walk the next day is a challenge. Here are how the champions and record holders, John Korir and Sharon Lokedi, walk the stairs the next day. The dread of all runners after a marathon finish is the stairs!

211 laps on an indoor track! 🤯 Before Boston’s marathoners ran through the city’s streets more than 600 runners from over 24 teams descended on the TRACK at new balance to cover 26.2 miles at the New Balance Marathon Relay. Hosts Rob and Meb of Set the Pace interviewed runners right off the track, including Olympians Kim Conley and Aisha Praught-Leer, NBC 10 Boston reporter Matt Prichard, host of Ali on the Run Ali Feller, Endorphins Running founder Tyler Swartz, and more. Watch now at the link in bio. 🎥

The Meb Foundation tried something different this year for the @newbalance Indoor Marathon Relay: we recruited 26 Boston area students to race, along with three high school students to film, capture and edit the content from the day. The result? 2:36:12. 9th overall. And now this highlight reel from graduating Senior, Isaac Weng. We couldn’t be more proud of every single athlete who ran their mile and passed off the baton. They represent what the Meb Foundation is all about: Maintaining Excellent Balance, as well as the future of our sport. And a special thanks to the team at New Balance. You made all of us feel like all-stars out there. #runtowin #mebfoundation
