Creative freedom changes everything- especially when you let the space lead the way.
For this event, we reworked the room with soft draping, layered neutrals, and intentional hits of color to completely shift the feel. The draping created a subtle cabana-like moment, something we hadn’t seen done in this space before, adding intimacy, movement, and a sense of ease. Creating height without traditional hanging points meant getting creative with structure, tension, and flow, adding depth without overpowering the architecture.
The couple wanted to keep the mid century modern vibe front and center, with tons of plants and a space that felt warm, grounded, and alive. Creams, soft woods, and natural textures set the stage, while florals and table details brought in color and personality. Woven shades at varying heights added dimension and made the sight lines more dynamic. Nothing loud, nothing too heavy, just enough to make the room feel layered and intentional.
This transformation started with collaboration. Nicole from the fabulous
@zillaevents brought me in on the initial design deck, and together we built it into the immersive space it became. She made every part of the planning process effortless and a total blast. Huge love to Drew and the team from
@runestoneevents , and to the team at
@greenlightpdx , who are not only dear friends but always run with my ideas, add their own, and somehow make everything even better.
