@gpt100miler last year 38 degrees, this year -11 windchill with 50-90km wind gusts overnight on Mt William and beyond. Classic Victoria 🤣. I have never worn so much clothing on an adventurer or ever. Turns out water proof pants make a big difference, probably should have put them on sooner!
The Gariwerd got me good again! It is a trail like no other!
I was having a very solid run, sitting around 8th with all class ahead and some more in tow. By 130km my water logged feet from the rain overnight had declared war with the thought of going on and for some reason I was puffed up like the Michelin man. I turned into a sitting duck. Had to rally. To be honest if I had of finished the year before I don’t think I would have kept going.
First 33km took me 4hrs 8 min
Last 33km took me 7hrs 58 min (nearly 15 min/km)
Pretty much double 🤦♂️
And the last section is way less technical!
In the end 13th and 28hrs 50min
A few new wrinkles and grey hairs from this one but stoked to finally have finished the traverse of Gariwerd!
Well done to
@gpt100miler for joining the
@worldtrailmajors and living up to the standard.
@joe_runs_trails and
@dadofthemullet you are legends.
The passion behind this beast is amazing.
Be warned this ain’t no parkrun but with big efforts come big rewards 😍 FYI if you do

Thanks for all the support Kim, Lara and Luke. Marc Woods saved the day with a spare pole (great to see you)
@jmfresh21 for the lead out train.
@oakie.d you had a picture perfect paced run mate, huge kudos, I took notes.
@k8_timmons I don’t know how you went that long without sleep but you did it!
Cheers
@tarkine for the kicks! The Giants were grippy all day/night/day
Cheers to
@corrie.endurancecoach for getting me up to spec. Big improvements from last year.
Stoked for everyone else who turned up to the start line and took that beast on. If it got the better of you, you aren’t alone.
All the good pics
