Honoured to finally share the first gallery from the 8th edition of the @openhair_metalfestival 🤘
Over 1.5 intense days of continuous shooting, I had the opportunity to cover my first metal event as an accredited photographer — an experience I genuinely won’t ever forget.
Despite some challenges along the way, including having to work entirely from within the crowd due to safety restrictions around the stage, I gave everything to capture the atmosphere, energy and emotion of this insanely fun weekend as authentically as possible.
While my photography generally spans many different subjects and environments, live concert photography is still new territory for me. I usually attend such events as an ordinary metalhead in the crowd, and approaching one with a tight photographic mindset is a completely different experience. It was truly exciting, intense and a creatively challenging task to tackle.
After many hours of careful selection and editing, I’m excited to finally present the results.
This is the first of several upcoming galleries over the next couple of days, each focusing on some of the festival’s standout acts while also showcasing moments and impressions from across the weekend.
A huge thanks to the organisers of the OpenHair Metal Festival for putting together such a fantastic event, to the crowd for creating such an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the entire weekend, and especially to every single band for delivering amazing performances. You could genuinely feel the passion everywhere around the festival grounds.
I hope these images manage to transport at least a small part of those emotions and memories. Stay tuned for more!
