All while combining combine heavy hardcore punk influence with reggae, psychedelic and other switch ups to keep you on your Gourdy toes. A gourd is a fruit from a flowering plant species in the family Cucurbitaceae, there are many species of gourd, some with hard shells and some without. They do vary a lot as most fruits do, some can be very small making the shape of a typical shaker and some can be extremely heavy and large, mainly the variety Zucca melon (the giant gourd.) Edible gourds include the ones usually referred to as squash, whilst most are only ornamental due to their hard shells, being inedible and not tasting very nice. Pumpkin is also a member of the same family as gourds. Growing them as a plant can be possible if they are given full sun and rich well-drained soil, they do also grow very quickly and should have some type of support such as a trellis or fence.

So, us Rudimentary Pastes renewed our passports but it turns out we don’t need them to travel to St. Neot’s next week to play with @dead_leaves_band @micesareaband @gtfododge @the_dan_the_d & @eelseelseelsband (The Eight Bells doors at 17:00). So, rather than let them go to waste we’ve booked ourselves a wee @socks_on_records exchange trip to Italy. We’ll be sweating all over the stage @joshuabluesclub w/ @goodjobkidband @ohdoomband and a host of Italian bands in May. What’s foamcore in Italian?

We’ve been taking a little break from playing live to focus on finishing up some new songs, but we have plenty of exciting shenanigans lined up for ‘26. Our first gig of the year will be this little beauty - we’re absolutely honoured to be asked to support our good pals, and @socks_on_records label mates, @thewinonasband as they launch their new album into the world. We’ve shared the stage with these guys a bunch of times since we first bumped into them a year or so ago, and every time has been pure joy. The lithe and lovely @nihilisticbiscuits will be also making an appearance, neo-grunging up the place and undoubtedly getting their steps in - the energetic scamps.
